I recorded my version of Las Vegas (in the hills of Donegal), a 1992 hit by Goats Don't Shave. In my new arrangement I have inserted the sound of my uilleann pipes. The funny lyrics of the song speak of an imaginary scenario where a city like Las Vegas, with its casino's, strip clubs, hotels, was built in Ireland, in the green lands of Donegal. What could happen?

This song is about those times when everything becomes too much. When I need to be in a quiet place, alone, somewhere safe where I can find myself again before I let myself out into the world. 

It can start in a busy street, where there are too many faces and voices and lights and sirens going by; or it can start when I am already alone but my thoughts are spinning around out of control and won’t let me rest. 

At those times a dimly lit room and a soft, mellow playlist turned low are my saviours; they pull me back into myself until I can find my perspective again.
