Locked away in sonic solitude, Mind Vortex have been building these next four cuts with absolute precision. And being such a pivotal signing for the RAM imprint, it’s no surprise that this EP has been met with almost unbearable anticipation.

Few acts capture the vibrancy and pent-up energy that Mind Vortex commands. Another charged assault on the ears, the ‘Colours EP’ is definitely a return to form. An impressive feat, having already set the bar high with tracks like ‘Hotbox’ being showcased on label head Andy C’s revered Nightlife series.

With an authoritative vocal sample leading you ear-drums first into the mix, ‘Underworld’ is foreboding from its first bass riff. A jittering coaster ride, this is roller explodes on impact, taking you deep into its namesake. The artists manipulate synth in a way which often can’t be matched, distorting sounds and smashing the prototype to pieces with carefully fashioned hits of drum. 

One of their biggest releases to date, expect this EP to resound in both underground dancehalls and the headphones of dnb-heads everywhere. These four blasting production behemoths will ensure that Mind Vortex stay on the agenda’s forefront.

Phace’s own imprint, Neosignal Recordings, released his fourth studio album, titled ‘Shape The Random’, on March 16th (CD, digital, limited vinyl formats), preceded by a two track album sampler out now (digital and limited vinyl formats). Having worked on the album for over a year, he believes this LP to be both his best work so far and his most intense production experience to date. The 14 track album contains the cutting edge drum & bass music that’s become his signature, an uncompromising and original sound that combines twisted bass, rhythmical experimentation, high contrast ambience, deep cinematic themes, explosive energy, and elements of analogue tech and funk.

As Seven Lions, Montalvo is a natural at spanning all genres. However, it is his remix of Above & Beyond and Zoe Johnston’s “You Got To Go” which served as his breakout hit and introduction to the EDM world.

“I won the official remix competition, which is how I got involved with Above & Beyond. I don’t know if they were expecting the track to do as well as it did. But it definitely got their attention, and now they’re wanting to work with me more."

That the remix “did well” is an understatement — typical of the soft-spoken Montalvo. The meteoric track sat at #2 on Beatport's Dubstep chart for over 6 weeks, second only to Skrillex's remix of Levels, with hundreds of thousands of listens across Youtube. And since winning the competition, several other artists from Above & Beyond's label, Anjunabeats, have begun talks in working with Seven Lions and his melodic take on dubstep.

Tinlicker strike again on Sotto Voce, their second release on Feed Me’s imprint takes things up a notch for 2015. Out exclusively on Beatport on the 14th April, and other platforms worldwide on the 28th April. The kaleidoscopic synth tinged 5-track EP “Into The Open”, is an epic journey from start to finish. The EP sees collaborations with Devries on the title track, and amazing euphoric, awe-inspiring vocals from Laura Louise on “Gazoline”.

This EP combines the hugely in-vogue modulating 80s synth-techno with the atmospherics expected from a Brian Eno project, backed by the thumping, crisp percussion, spanning across, spacious loose-limbed headphone pieces and tough, floor-focused club tracks. This innovative duo have sculpted a unique sound of their own, and made a home with the Sotto Voce family.
