DJ WolleXDP exploring new paths?

“ #DeepTechno ”? “ #HypnoticTech ”? “ #DarkTrance ”? – whatever it is. I honestly have no idea whether this already qualifies as its own genre (maybe some of you do?), and as many of you know, I’ve never cared much for those kinds of labels anyway.

Here’s the backstory: a few weeks ago, I went to #Sisyphos with my girlfriend to finally experience my dear DJ dude #OliverHuntemann live again – someone I deeply admire. For me, Oliver is one of the most consistently reliable DJs when it comes to delivering exactly the kind of journey I love creating myself behind the decks: a beautiful trip where I can dissolve entirely into (collective) trance.

He didn’t disappoint.
But what struck me most was how he made me experience the #Hammerhalle in a completely new way.
I was genuinely blown away.
The last time I heard him play was at “#BuchtderTräumer” in the summer. I never would have imagined that he could bring that very special vibe of his into the Hammerhalle.
Wow – so that kind of thing really can happen here too?

Now, if you think I simply tried to imitate Oliver – then you don’t know me.
And more importantly, anyone who truly knows us both would understand that we have very different views on what music is – or can be.
Naturally, my track selection and my set dramaturgy are completely different from his.

But maybe what connects us isn’t something you hear – maybe it’s something you feel, from the dancefloor perspective?
For me, it’s always about energy. About depth. About emotion. And sometimes, it’s about that very specific calmness that certain tracks need to really shine.

But enough introduction.

Of course, this mix is still 100% #WolleXDP.
And yet – it’s different.
So different, in fact, that for me it marks something like a milestone.
I’ve been working on this kind of sound in my head for quite some time now.
And on Tuesday morning at Sisyphos, I finally got the chance to try it out – and to play all those tracks I’ve been collecting for years just for myself. Tracks I love – but never had the right context to actually play in public.

Special shout-out to the #lightingoperator – I’m almost certain they really felt the music.
The lighting matched the vibe perfectly and played a big part in what happened that morning.
What a joy!

Die Stimmung war wild und die Luft heiß. Es war laut, warm und irgendwie ganz wunderbar. 🖤Ich hab mich durch bouncy Indie Dance, Psytech & Dark Minimal treiben lassen, und ihr seid mitgeflogen. 💫

Hallo liebe Räuschlinge, hier ist Michi vom Rauschkollektiv. Ihr hört eine neue Folge unseres Rauschcast Podcasts. Diesmal haben wir euch einen Mitschnitt von Rebecca Minuusch im b2b mit Marcus Manning von unserer letzten Veranstalltung FUF im Rausch im Live-Club mitgebracht. Ich finde ja Back to Back immer sehr herausfordend, hier müssen die DJs schon gut auf einer Welle schwimmen, damit das Set auch funktioniert, harmonisch ist und es kein wildes auf und ab wird, weil jeder DJ irgendwie einen anderen Sound spielt. Nicht so bei unseren heutigen Gästen, ganz im Gegenteil. Die beide harmonieren seit über 7 Jahren auch hinter den Decks und zünden regelrechte Feuerwerke. Gerade was Setaufbau, Trackauswahl und Dramaturgie im Set angeht haben die beiden ein unglaubliches Gespühr und zeigen euch in über zwei Stunden wie auch langsamerer Techno, ohne mit 150bpm durchzuballern, wahnsinnig tanzbar und energiegeladen sein kein, ein Set gespickt mit vielen euphorischen Momenten, das einlädt den Alltag auszublenden und sich ganz und gar dem Sound hinzugeben. Ich hoffe ich konnte euch ebenso neugierig machen wie ich es war, bevor ich das Set zum ersten Mal hören durfte.   
Kurz noch ein paar Infos zum Rauschkollektiv. Am 14. November kommt unser nächstes Highlight nach Bamberg, auf das ich mich ganz besonders freue. Denn wir haben uns A.D.H.S in den Live-Club eingeladen. Der Berliner DJ und Producer ist einer der aktuell spektakulärsten Acts im Techno-Zirkus und sein Tourkalender liest sich wie eine Bucketlist vieler DJs, nur dass er sie schon alle bespielt hat. Neben vielen eigenen Veröffentlungen unter anderem auf Labels wie Drumcode und Terminal M, hat er aktuell mit seinem Remix des Tracks Schall von Elektrochemie LK, grüße an die 90er gehen raus, dahinter verbirgt sich übrigens sein guter Freund Thomas Schumacher, für mächtig Furore und Aufsehen gesorgt. Der Track ist sofort nach Veröffentlichung direkt in die Top10 der Beatport Techno Charts gelandet. Absolut phänomenal was A.D.H.S hier für ein Brett rausgebracht hat. Deswegen hier nochmal die groeße Werbetrommel für unsere Veranstaltung Therapierauschen mit A.D.H.S. am 14.11. im Live-Club in Bamberg.

Empro's Upcoming Gigs

EMPRO

Empro grew up in Thuringia in East Germany during the late 80s. His interest on the variety of electronic music awakes in the mid-90s. Following the move to Berlin in 2000 and an intense journey through different styles of the new music movement, he quickly dipped into the scene and became an active part of it.

Until today techno music has not lost anything of its charm to him. Empro has the pleasure to play his music in clubs and on festivals all over the world. In 2012 he became a resident DJ at the world-famous club Sisyphos in Berlin.

Empros first DJ gig was in 2003 at Underground Berlin below Alexanderplatz. Numerous gigs followed and within a short time he played in Berlins most popular clubs like Panoramabar, Watergate, Tresor, Bar25, Maria, WMF and Polar TV.

You can describe Empros music as trippy, twisted, dynamic, organic, daisy and always forwards. He is well-known for his energetic enduring TechHouse Sets, alongside he invites everyone to listen, feel and enjoy the music and makes everybody dance like nobody is watching, also himself.

Taken by the desire to create something unique he founded together with Ruede Hagelstein the booking agency Mind The Crap in 2004. Afterwards he decided to set up his own and still ongoing business project „free agency“.

In 2011 he had his own Techno Club called Levee. Besides he is the initiator of varied party series in and around Berlin like HomeSweetHome (in co-op with Marcus Meinhardt) and Betriebsfeier (founded in 2003 together with Coco Berlin). Moreover he supported the Melt!Festival with organizing the Sleepless Floor for many years and was involved in festivals like SonneMondSterne, Fusion and Sonar OFF.

Apart from being a DJ all over, he released since 2006 his own productions and remixes on several labels like BAR25, Heinz Music, Upon.You Records and Freizeitglauben. Empro is currently back in his studio and you should watch out for his next releases.
