So hot and no water. Only hearing strange garbled voices on radio. Bird sized bee-things keep coming at us from behind. You have to face them or they bite you. We did find shelter in a small cave but we can't stay there. We decided to go up the mountain. Maybe there will be water or some radio reception. Maybe no bees. Sometimes we had to climb and then got attacked by flying things. And of course the corporate representative tried to doublecross us but we took care of him. We reached a swamp part ways up after nightfall. Something sounds like frogs but we haven't seen them. Radio still has strange voices but it seems peaceful here.

Not as interested this time as much in critical feedback. (Edit: oh go ahead and be critical if you like). I realize it's a bit repetitive. Simplistic bassline. Not even any drum fills. But I really like it as is. A lot. The harmonica sounded like it was saying "down the river". From there I started thinking of a river on fire that was sort of like the infinite corridor in the castlevania tv series on netflix. I might try to find a more representative picture. (Originally uploaded on 5/7/23. On 5/9/23 I went back and changed the high pass on bass and kick from 50hz down to 25 hz or so. And made drums a bit more coherent in general.)

I discovered AuroraFM this month, thanks to Elvicente. I love it. Really underrated synth. FYI I made 9 tracks just with it this month. in those 9 tracks some sounds are dx7 patches I found online, some factory, some Elivicente, some tweaked, some mine. Maybe some dexed patches but I doubt it... I don't recall exactly for each track. This track was entered based on the discord consensus from 5 I posted there.

I really like the way this sounds. Sorry it's 8 minutes while moving slow. It does slowly develop and gets a bit more interesting in the second half. It is how it's meant to be. 

It may not add anything at all to the listening experience for you but FWIW I picture in my head a futuristic city of immortals who in order to be rejuvenated finally have to start mixing their DNA with other creatures. Is it a good thing or bad? It's a new thing. Turns out it's not terrible. Though there was a lot of trepidation and some factions preferred death.

I modified Jasinski's cymbal and a couple of Bowman's snares. I used a bit of Bowman's box guitar and TNS' (TheNeverScene) guitar. I used a lot of a delay tuned guitar. IV! showed me how to tune it with one patch. But because it has a glide I had to make it one note per instance and then use JS note filter. That's extreme patch borrowing for me. Finally NeverBeenInARiot mentioned the Reaverb "trick" that is used on the cymbal. So a big thanks to those OSCers.

I have had many dreams throughout my life about finding hidden doors that lead to magical places. The picture is of a abandoned stairway in a house I lived in for a few years in college. Leads to the backside of a refrigerator. I had dreams about that house, that there were secret floors burrowed back into the hillside, etc. And at one point years later I couldn't remember if this abandoned stairway really was there or I just dreamed it.

Anyway making this triggered another of that type of dream.
