Mud (Nonprofit) (original track)

A work in progress / abandonded track from early 2023, finished and remixed June 1st 2023.
This track, I created earlier this year for the same proto-jazz proyect that generated my track for [junto0584](https://soundcloud.com/daniel-diaz/nocturnal-studio-jam-number-2) this was intended to be a jazz-lounge jam, I recorded the electric piano part over a jazz drum loop and a walking upright bass, then decided that I wanted a more lounge/funky beta and grabbed a different loop. I clicked on the wrong loop-file an dI got this weird electro-beat that completely destroyed the track's jazz feel. I tried to re record the bass, with a fretless bass, more soul-funk groovy but it didn't work, it was too hybrid.

So as the track evolved from a jazz jam to...well, this; I decided to tweak a couple of things, mix it and share it with you as my example of Phylogeny.

Ukraine Dam Bombing: Information War and Endless Escalation

This was a fun one. As it was a cloudy day, I was moodier than usual. So I opted for some dark and melancholic sounds from the Lyra, Buchla Easel and a bit of brightness from the Wing Pinger. The Easel and Wing Pinger where fead into a decaying tape loop effect. For the recording I set up my phone in another room, a zoom recorder in the studio, my laptop (recording directly into Logic) and direct to my Tascam recorder. I then played back part of the result and recorded with a really crappy dictaphone from the previous century and then played that back into another channel on Logic through my laptops internal microphone. Aside from minimal panning, I did not add any effects and decided to keep the squeaks and rummaging noises as I went from place to place to turn on the various recorders.

Disquiet Junto Project 0600: Reaching Out
The Assignment: This is a shared sample project. Rework a set of seven WAV files provided by Marcus Fischer.

I wanted to make a ten minutes track, because thats 600 seconds for disquiet0600. Some of the samples went into granular meat grinders of different kinds (but mostly Granulator II in Live), others were used more or less directly, but with something from Puremagnetik as an FX. I went by stomach for a track that would please my taste, using only Marcus samples

Among the four great masters of Japanese haiku, Kobayashi Issa was the most prolific: during his lifetime he wrote over 20,000 haiku, hundreds of tanka, and several haibun. If you want to find out more about this prolific author I suggest you check out this database of his haiku.

From the Haiku Guy website:

“Literally, Issa says that the autumn foliage “returns the setting sun to the sky” (irihi wo sora e kaesu). Is he saying that the leaves on the mountain are so bright and red, the setting sun has returned to the sky?

Shinji Ogawa has also mulled over this haiku. He suggests that perhaps “the red leaves reflect the rays of the evening sun to the sky; that is why the sky glows so red.”

Done for Disquiet Junto 0610

This was fun. This is mostly a quick sample of a percussive 4//lIGhT's 60 bpm Stomp bit, repeated excessively, with a tiny guitar-sounding bit from @tristan_louth_robins 's Refactored Drift. Filled out with @XHG 's Acrostic Speed Limit and some from a 4th one, but I forget.

Instructions:

Step 1: In the previous Disquiet Junto project, participants recorded a variety of tracks at a standard pace of 60 BPM. Listen to the resulting material on the Lines discussion board and the SoundCloud playlist:

Step 2: Select two or more tracks from the provided ones, slow them to half their original pace — that is, to 30 BPM — and use editing techniques to combine them into one new piece of music.
