Excerpt of Paraphrase on Themes of Brian Eno, from composer/pianist Timo Andres's 2013 Nonesuch album, Home Stretch. On the album, Andres pairs this reinvention with his Mozart "Coronation" Concerto Re-Composition, described by The New Yorker's Alex Ross as "mesmerizing," as well as the title piece. Metropolis Ensemble chamber orchestra performs with the composer on piano. The album, says NPR, offers "thought-provoking glimpses into how the past and the present merge in classical music today." The Chicago Reader says it "bursts with creativity." The Guardian and the Independent give it four stars.

"Lush Intrinsic" was commissioned by pianist Keith Kirchoff and composed in 2009. All of the electronic sounds are created using piano samples, most of which are captured live during the performance. The electronics are conceived as a means to extend and augment the piano’s capabilities, at times creating dense polyrhythmic textures that seek a common ground between minimalism and electronica and popular music.

	It’s been said by sound artists that “one man’s noise is another man’s music.” 'The Roedelius Cells' imagines the possibility that one man’s music might also quite literally become ‘another man’s music.’ 'The Roedelius Cells', in a limited edition of just 500 cd's, documents a unique multichannel-audio installation, composed by Grammy-nominated composer Tim Story and featuring original piano recordings by Hans-Joachim Roedelius.  Intricate, superimposed layers of piano coalesce and recombine into shimmering soundscapes that move from lyrical intimacy to pulsing syncopation.

"During sessions for several collaborations in my studio over the past decade, Hans-Joachim Roedelius and I often ‘left the tape rolling,’ capturing many hours of his intuitive solo piano improvisations.  Rediscovering these informal recordings years later, I began treating them more as ‘found sounds’ than finished compositions. Recombining very small cells of this material into layered, evolving patterns, entirely new forms began to take shape.  Up to eight interlocked layers – often consisting of just a few seconds of repeated sound – create a ‘music made from music’ which bears little resemblance to Joachim’s original piano inventions. But while his performances have been ruthlessly chopped, interrupted and rearranged, the profound lyricism and delicacy of his playing remarkably survive.

The word cells was chosen deliberately:  it alludes both to the audio building blocks at the core of the compositions, and to the word’s more organic implication – the intensely personal expression that seems to flow effortlessly from my friend Joachim’s musical DNA.

Designed as a gallery installation, The Roedelius Cells utilizes a playback system that spreads the individual cell layers discretely amongst eight speakers.  Travelling through the physical space,
one’s interaction with these superimposed cells evolves in unique and unrepeatable ways – in essence extending the act of collaboration and ‘re-composition’ to each listener. This CD attempts to preserve as much as possible of these spatial relationships, albeit within the confines of a stereo environment."   (TS, 2016)

Featuring the studio touches of Squarepusher, Oneohtrix Point Never, Tim Hecker, Hauschka, Johann Johannsson, Ikue Mori, and many more, the double-CD set includes Mantra’s live performance of Timber from the 2014 Bang on a Can Marathon.

To celebrate the beginnings of the new 7K! brand, 7K! has teamed up with Berlin radio station Flux FM who will be launching the new radio channel Neo FM on January 27th. Luca D'Alberto will play his first live show, complete with 4 piece ensemble, live at the event, which will be streamed worldwide from Silent Green in Berlin. Luca D'Alberto's debut album Endless, produced by Martyn Heyne and Henrik Schwarz, is due for release on 7K! in 2017.

Luca D'Alberto - Wait For Me [7K!]

Released on 6th June 2016, five years after his previous album, a new album “MOMENTARY: Memories of the Beginning” featuring Nagi Yanagi and Devendra Banhart has attracted many music listeners as one can swim freely across the ocean of pops composed by Akira.  After three months later, on 9th September, he have released another album “One Day”, a recording of him playing an old piano improvisationally at his parent’s home has amazed many fans.

“Our Own Picture”, is the last release from the label for the year 2016, includes few tracks composed with his feeling about this few years’ changing environment.  “You” is a song dedicated for his new born boy and his wife, “Out of the Solitary Mind” is a reflection of the changes in his feeling from his solitary time to his time sharing with a family, and a solo piano version of “Joy” which was originally release in 2013, will end this album with the melody of happiness.  It’s a collection of heartwarming piano sketches.

Trajectories is the second full-length album by Michael Vincent Waller, featuring pianist R. Andrew Lee and cellist Seth Parker Woods. The album will be released on September 8th, 2017, on Sean McCann’s Los Angeles based label, Recital. The CD edition includes photography by Phill Niblock, liner notes by "Blue" Gene Tyranny, and mastered by Denis Blackham. 

Michael Vincent Waller is an American composer based in New York City. His music has been described as lyrical and introspective, drawing inspiration from impressionism, post-minimalism and world music. The work situates these familiar elements within decidedly unconventional and individual frameworks.  

Waller's practice has been cultivated through private study with La Monte Young, Bunita Marcus, and with Elizabeth Hoffman as an undergrad at NYU.  He has since collaborated with a number of noted soloists and ensembles including S.E.M. Ensemble, Ensemble Dedalus, String Noise, and members of the FLUX Quartet. In 2015, Phill Niblock's XI Records launched Waller's acclaimed 2-disc recorded debut, The South Shore, which compiles a number of solo and chamber works spanning 2011-2014.

Compared to Waller's debut, which offered a panorama of different instrumentation and approaches, Trajectories is more introspective and focused, working only with piano and cello through a personal language that is often intricate and spacious.

Pianist R. Andrew Lee is renowned for his performances of minimalist work. He has released twelve albums, including many long-form piano recordings on his label Irritable Hedgehog, including November by Dennis Johnson, which was selected by Time Out New York as the best classical recording of 2013. 
 
Cellist Seth Parker Woods has established a diverse career that straddles the worlds of classical, contemporary, electronics and performance art. He worked with artists ranging from Heinz Holier, G.F. Haas, and Klaus Lang to Peter Gabriel, Sting, and Aldo Tambellini.

‘The Birds’ are three tracks released together as the lead singles from the upcoming album, aptly named ‘Sketches’, due to its stripped down nature, is bejeweled by thematic undercurrents. 

‘Sketches’ serves to reintroduce listeners to Ackroyd’s most stunning pieces from her previous albums, all of which have been reworked into ‘acoustic’ solo piano arrangements alongside four brand new unheard pieces, which offer a taste of a new forthcoming record. The mini album sees a July release in preparation for a brand new full length album to be released in October, and One Little Indian will also reissue Ackroyd’s back catalogue on CD and vinyl alongside the new mini-album.
