"Magic Theater" is a melodic techno track inspired by the deep, thought-provoking themes of Hermann Hesse's The Steppenwolf. This song captures the ups and downs of our existence, mirroring the endless loop of chaotic and transformative moments we all go through. It's about realizing that we're not just one thing—civilized or not—but a whole spectrum of different "I's," each with its own unique story, emotions, and contradictions.

After setting the tone a captivating breakdown with a low rees bass emerges, representing that feeling of emptiness and loneliness we might experience when we see the many sides of ourselves. But as the breakdown leads into the drop, the track shows us that beneath that emptiness, there's a whole world of different selves, constantly circling and looping through our minds and bodies. The piano melody guides us through this journey, building up to a powerful drop where all the wild elements—every part of who we are—come together in a blend of harmonic chaos, capturing the true essence of what it means to be human.

"Magic Theater" encourages listeners to dive deep into their own minds, embrace the many sides of themselves, and dance along with the endless, ever-changing rhythm of life.

Embracing electronic music’s poignant zest, The Journey are delivering studio output supported by pioneers and humble music enthusiasts equally. Built to keep dance-floor hearts full, the Melbourne based duo have
knelt to electronic devotees on one knee, gracing stages at the iconic Rainbow Serpent Festival, Pitch Music & Arts, Subsonic and Strawberry Fields Festival, while having cemented solid tours throughout Europe from
2018-2022 and again in 2023.

Delivering ammunition for festival, club and afterparty, The Journey have earned themselves a place on some of the world’s finest labels such as Stil Vor Talent, Bedrock & Einmusika whilst also being remixed by some of the industries elite in Bebetta, Tim Engelhardt, PARIS, CIOZ, Re.you, Rafael Cerato and Florian Kruse, the list goes on.

The Journey have added their own flavour to a number of world class artists, remixing the likes of Super Flu, Oppaacha, Bebetta, Betoko, Sharam Jay, Luke Chable and Quench’s 1993 anthem, ‘Dreams’. Their remix for singer-songwriter Running Touch on ‘My Hands’ acquired a well- deserved spot on the 2019 Ministry of Sound Annual. The Journey also attracted prodigious recognition after remixing the iconic ‘Treaty’ by Yothu Yindi resulting in them being nominated for The Age’s Music Victoria Electronic Artist of The Year alongside Dom Dolla, Client Liaison, Harvey Sutherland and KLLO.

Their original works, collaborations and remixes have amassed three ARIA Club Chart #1’s, and a handful of Beatport top 10’s in their respective genres whilst being played and supported by the biggest names in the
industry. The road ahead derives inspiration from the last year’s vibrant success - musically on some of the world’s most celebrated record labels, amidst stacking shows across the Australian summer and straight to Europe where the pair’s fifth tour of the region is imminent along with a string of shows in India on the way home. The duo are also the brains behind 3 world class record labels in UGENIUS, Valiant and charity label
Philanthropy which is home to nearly 100 different artist. 

Tom and Jacob also keep busy with their weekly Radio Show UGENIUS Radio which is currently aired on 7 stations worldwide in over 10 different countries.

In the times we’re living through, which can feel uncertain, complex and sometimes dark, we need a compelling vision of the future to guide us. Through music, you don’t just listen, you feel and begin to see a future that’s already unfolding, a future filled with energy, connection, and love.

My role is simple: to translate the unspoken, to give form to what you can already feel, so that together, we can embrace the vision of a brighter future.
