"There's an idea in electronic music that the more esoteric, darker, percussive tunes that many artists find themselves falling deeper into as they develop their craft, myself included, are not for or loved by the masses. This is not an idea, I share. While I've been on a journey for over 10 years since first touching a set of decks, becoming borderline obsessed with these tunes; the constant digging for forward-thinking music led me to discover labels like Unchained. Since developing a palate for the style you'll find in my mix, the idea that it's difficult or even obscure sometimes prevents me from dropping a full D&B/Juke/Footwork set at my residency sets in my city.
That's why for me and the listeners, a label like Unchained is so important. Bringing straight to people's ears the music I want to play, and they want to hear even if they don't know it yet. There's no such thing as artist or scene only music. I've tested it on unexpecting ears, it slaps. Hold tight Unchained; giving me the opportunity to showcase the music that I'm genuinely passionate about."

This song was inspired by a gig I went to in Melbourne called the DOT (hence the name!). I'm always so inspired by live shows and other artists - actively involving yourself in other people's music and allowing yourself to be influenced by it is such a big part of being an artist and I'm so grateful that there is such a thriving underground scene here in Australia. I always come back from shows feeling super buzzed and eager to make new music.
