The idea came to me reading things about SETI and Kardashev scale that lists the technological level of hypothetical alien civilizations. Then, i thought that in the future we may find the remains of ancient civilizations on other planets disappeared thousands or millions of years.

Ancient alien structures

The apparent size and age of the universe suggest that many technologically advanced extraterrestrial civilizations ought to exist.
However, this hypothesis seems inconsistent with the lack of observational evidence to support it.
