Following Matthias Meyer's hugely acclaimed ‘Sweet Ease’ / ‘Hybrid Society’ collaboration with Budakid on Watergate Records which reached No.1 on Beatport Indie Dance and was accompanied by Matthias Meyer touring worldwide, ’The Choir’ EP showcases the Berlin-based artist’s trademark diverse and eclectic sound, whilst brimming full of emotion and energy.

The deep and stirring title track ’The Choir’ is a highly original and mesmeric opener whose centrepiece is a euphoric, yet poignant church choir refrain which shimmers and pulsates throughout, beautifully deployed alongside the tougher edged beats which drive the hypnotic cut. This truly remarkable track is certain to become a highlight of DJ sets over the coming months, whether played at a beach party in Mexico, or in a stadium arena concert.

’Touch Of Magic’ complements ‘The Choir’ perfectly, as ‘80s inspired synths and glitchy beats move up a tempo, whilst the choral elements are softened alongside addictive stabbing percussion and sparkling, cascading chords.

Meyer’s debut label release, ‘Strangely Enough’, was released in Spring 2021 and included support from RÜFÜS DU SOL, Solomun, Sasha, Adriatique, Rampa, and James Grant, amongst others.

As you may notice while listening to Lehars music compositions, intuition and emotion are the basis of his creative process, finally resulting in a near impromptu. Lehars debut EP Sargas on Offenbach imprint Connaisseur Recordings has put him on the map of modern electronic music and represents his artistic manifesto: a mixture of sounds and atmospheres of dramatic effects characterized by intimate basslines and intriguing melodies. Lehars EP Magic Realism on Diynamic Music, the indie single Number One Hero featuring Rush Midnight on 2DIY4, his contribution to the 10 Years of Diynamic album celebration, his mini album Picture released in October 2017 on Diynamic Music, as well as the Penta EP he released on his own imprint in 2018, have consolidated his reputation as a producer. Thanks to the active work on the remix side and few collaborations with Musumeci, Lehars music also appears on Compost Black Label, Endless, My Favorite Robot, Mood Music and Lost & Found. In 2018 he, together with Musumeci and Olderic, created the label Multinotes. SULEIMAN RECORDS is a Montreal boutique digital label founded by DJ/producer Darem Aissa. The name of the imprint pays homage to Syrian poet Suleiman Al-Aissa, one of the most prominent contemporary Arab poets.

The intent of SULEIMAN RECORDS and its vinyl-only sub-label AISSA RECORDS is to promote and produce positive, quality, underground electronic music. Taking influences from House, Techno and the many amalgamations in between, involving a diverse array of talented artists worldwide.

Alongside Be One, his last EP on Endangered, Brian Cid has had a plethora of releases already this year, with originals on Lost & Found and Flying Circus, and remixes on Oddity & Einmusika.  The music has been flowing for Brian during this challenging time in the world, and We Will Rise is one of his most powerful releases in recent memory.  There are two distinct sides to this EP, one of descending and the other of emerging, which seems to reflect both the world’s current climate, and a sense of hope for the future.  

“Fiesta del Chivo” starts things off with dark & driving tribal rhythms, reminiscent of a ritualistic fire taking place in a futuristic jungle.  The track is based on the novel The Feast of the Goat by Mario Vargas Llosa, and carries a political connotation that reflects the recent changes in human consciousness.  The title track “We Will Rise” follows, and while still submerged in Brian’s signature dark melodic techno, there is a sense of being uplifted after this track is complete.  The second half of the EP switches gears to a more progressive vibe, and your trip has officially begun with “Confessions Of The Red Rattlesnake”.  A rock solid groove, combined with jedi-level production techniques give you a feeling of a distorted reality, and will have you floating throughout this one.  The tribal-style rhythms return in “Mil Mentiras Y La Verdad” (A Thousand Lies and the Truth), but this time in a different way given the progressive nature of the track.  Tension builds throughout, the journey of the EP starts to end, and this track is a fitting way to emerge with a sense of purpose.

Ever philosophical, and using this current time in the world to self-reflect, Brian gives his thoughts behind the music with a positive mindset:  “My soul dives boundless into the abyss as the world continues to resonate in distorted ways. It turns out I am experiencing the illusion of chaos while being deeply invested in the understanding that the moon shines brighter at the cusp of the night. Without an inch of doubt, we will rise. We always do because it is, in many ways, the true essence of the human experience. Otherworldly messages speak about the existence of the perfect order behind all chaos and repeated patterns of evidence have supported this throughout the history of humankind and beyond. We will rise as the sun rises after furious storms. And we will rise limitless and fearlessly as one. This wordless story embodies sequences of rhythms of ancient order. Expressed in pure and sincere forms through a powerful and exuberant sound. Dramatic by nature because, if you had just only one chance to clap, how loud would it be?”
