The magic atmosphere lingering over Lithuanian forests was the fertile ground for a fairytale tradition that was passed on for generations. Gediminas Jakubka, alias Patricia Kokett, was one of the kids that took in the mysticism and ethereal transcendence from myths and stories. He is now passing them onto our generation with synth black magic. 

He captures the meeting point between magic and his unique music taste in this sinuous mix.

Deviant 031 — Patricia Kokett

We didn't have to go too far for the June guest mix, as it was delivered by Prague's Marie Pravda. This young DJ has become an integral part of local lineups over the last few years and has appeared on several well-established guest mix series. In her selections, she emphasizes consistency and the listener’s well-being, as she says, she always wants to convey some emotion with her mixes. Recently, she’s become a resident of the new local initiative Planeta Za, as well as the European collaborative project Gravity Network. She’s also started devoting herself to her own music production, and we can only look forward to what this will bring in the future.

“I recorded this mix the morning of 14th of june, with an specific image in mind. I wanted to recreate the feeling of transcendence and stillness i felt during the earnest days of confinement, a solemnity i find quite easy to find in nature but no so much in cities. I hope you find the perfect moment to dive into it.”

Katza (@ktz) is a co-founder of PARALELOAN, he is a DJ based in Bilbao that has spent half of his life exploring the margins of muisc. Although today many can relate his sets to dance music, he started playing in punk bands when he was younger - that became a remarkable influence for him when picking the tracks to make people dance. Relying on both contemporary club music, such as post-punk, dub, or more DIY oddities, Katza values first of all the immediacy, urgency and emotion sounds selects.
