Active since the early 2000s, for much of her career Annechoic has operated in the shadows, balancing her time between her work in film post-production and running the highly regarded Audiofugitives label with Schizolectric since 2012.
She has also produced a secret arsenal of music that we have only gotten a glimpse at on her own label and more recently with a release for Brokntoys. Alongside this her recent DJ sets have been highly regarded for her intelligent flow across electro, techno and ambient.
Both as a producer and DJ, Annechoic wishes to explore the relationships between rhythm and melody primarily within electro but not confined to it. Her music ranges from soft ambient themes all the way through to darker synthetic sounds with an emphasis on the emotional reaction from the listener.

We are truly excited to welcome Olivia to the GF series. After seeing her perform at the Red Light Radio stage in 2019, we instantly knew big things were coming from the Krakow-born DJ and producer. A leading member of her home city’s We Are Radar party collective, she combines all aspects of the electronic sphere to carve out her own style. She has performed at leading clubs and festivals as Berghain, De School, Tresor, Golden Pudel, Dekmantel and Nachtdigital, Digital Tsunami, Boiler Room, and others. In addition to having extensive experience in booking and event management, she has brought out music on top-shelf labels such as Pinkman, both as herself as well as her collaborative alias Radiation 30376, a split EP on Dalmata Daniel, and more. It's finally sunny Amsterdam and we're extra happy to welcome LVRIN to the GF series. The DJ and hardware focussed producer has been impressing with his work for some time with deadly releases on labels like Electric Shapes, Sign Bit Zero, numerous on Pinkman Broken Dreams, on towLie's kaften label, on Arma Records as his alias Golden Axe and others. With the recent Ukraine war, he has made it a point as a Russian artist to take a stance against violence and speak out. He has contributed in many ways including all sales from his EP on Pinkman this year as well as being part of the fundraiser compilation by Global Warming Records which was curated by Yssue and featured 22 Russian artists. Lock in for a synth-heavy hour of chugging electro, EBM, and more.

This week on the GF series is the talented DJ and musician Gael. The Berlin-based artist is known for her distinctive blend of techno and experimental electronics, delivered with energy and style. As a producer, she's featured on labels such as Standard Deviation, System, Topot, Meta Moto, Minor Adjustments, Kashev Tapes, and most recently a shared track with Egzotikka on the newly launched Comme des Larmes VA. She combines this stellar body of work with scores, installations, and live performances under her alias shemovesshe. Her touring schedule is pleasantly packed with appearances at Berghain, Oxi Club, Institut Fuer Zukunft, Mala Junta, and native ∄ where she is also holding a residency at a queer party ХІТЬ. Lock in for an hour of raw, atom-splitting electronics.

Since the late nineties, Roc Jiménez de Cisneros and his collaborators have been producing what they call "computer music for hooligans", inspired by geometry, metaphysics, noise, cosmology and rave culture. A vortex of generative basslines, air horns and fuzzy arpeggios, their music displays a radical and playful approach to algorithmic composition, with works available on Entr'acte, Mego, Presto!?, Diskono, Scarcelight, fals.ch and their very own ALKU. 

BCN ¿Sello Discografico?: 

Como solemos decir por aquí, es sorprendente la cantidad de sellos, productores y otras células creativas que han proliferado los últimos años en Barcelona, una ciudad que siempre se había caracterizado por tener muchos más clubbers que músicos. Y parece que las chicas del documental BCN ¿sello discográfico? piensan igual. A punto de estrenarse en el festival In-Edit, la película intenta definir si existe un nexo, algún punto en común en todo este maremágnum, a base de declaraciones de los protagonistas, algunos de ellos directamente vinculados al MOOG. Y para celebrarlo, qué mejor que una fiesta en el club con auténticos pesos pesados del presunto Barcelona Sound como Clip!, David M, nuestro Gus Van Sound, y los indomables Evol por partida doble, con uno de sus lives de rave deconstruido y con un DJ set con los BPMs a toda pastilla. Parece que sí que está pasando algo en Barcelona.

New York City’s Veronica Vasicka very much discovered an untapped musical mine when searching for music for her radio show more than a decade ago. That mine was full of rare, overlooked and forgotten DIY synth records from the 70s and 80s and inspired her to start her own label, Minimal Wave. Since then it has become an imprint with a very focussed musical and visual identity, has spawned compilations on Peanut Butter Wolf's Stones Throw Records and has made Veronica an in demand DJ all round the world.

At those gigs, she offers up a sleek musical vision that is mirrored here in the mix she had done for our on going series.  Starting with a poignant monologue about new music, it then drops into a rugged groove that is industrial and machine made, abstract and futuristic. The ensuing hour touches on the robo-techno of Levon Vincent, terse beats and raved-up electro as well as some colourful and trippy disco. A lot is packed in, but a buffed metal sheen ties the whole thing together and subtly oozes the very essence of Minimal Wave.
