This wonderfully constructed EP kicks off with the first track on the A-side - ‘I Don’t Know’. From the get go, this is a slinky, catchy funky number. The warm, all consuming bass line jogs along, aided by subtle guitar riffs that light up the melody. The chugging train suddenly breaks for an outrageous blues vocal - deep growls and female backing singers take control before the track launches straight into the stratosphere. A guaranteed dance floor bomb.

I have been keeping a close eye on @ThirdAttempt over the last couple of years and he's an artist who has grown immeasurably and one who you definitely need to be watching out for. Crafting sublime house music and slo-mo disco all with a more than a touch of hip hop sample aesthetic he's developed a really delicious sound, warm and invigorating. 

His latest Ep see's him land back on the excellent @Beatservice, a label which has been a staunch supporter of his work.

The Spirit EP features four trademark Third Attempt tracks, delicious and invigorating at the same time.

Happy to share our 20th release on the label with you and it's a pleasure to welcome Desert Island Disco. A collective based out of Lisbon & London who have delivered for us the Shell Beach EP, a collection of four sunny cuts rich in colour and melody and packed with dance-floor power perfect for the rise in temperatures. On the remix Joe Morris applies his balearic beach breaks vibe while Statues slows the tempo with a chugging Italo-house refix

PREMIERE: Desert Island Disco - Bantu [Shades Of Sound]

The hardest working man in showbiz is back with four wonky balearic-not-balearic wobblers, cementing his reputation as one of the UK's best producers of downtempo, leftfield grooves.

Love Tracks loads a sample into the funk machine and presses the big red button. What comes out the other end has dub efx, vocal samples, and delays aplenty for a trip into 70s disco space.

Next up, Is It Daylight? takes the groove deep with shimmering synths and tripped out arpeggiated samples. Late night, hypnotic and mesmerising.

Female Planet takes Compass Point as the starting line and does a hard left. 80s bass, dub, broken beats, disco and female empowerment blend into underground party music  wearing a smile.

Finally, a murky motorik beat, busted synths and congas come off as organic, soulful kosmische, laying the bed for the heartfelt, plaintive vocals.
