Given their baby-faced innocence and boyish enthusiasm, it may be surprising to learn that all of Energy Dictator have been in bands before. Singer Kim was a member of seminal late 60s folk collective P'sswizzard and after foolishly dabbling in the occult was only able to leave by being reincarnated as a Genesis obsessed school boy. Guitarist Nick was a member of the third loudest band ever (once described by much missed rock critic "Big Man" Johnson as sounding like "a flight of stairs falling down a flight of stairs") who were unable to tour due to an addiction to those giant Toblerones you only find in airports. Instead, they stayed at home and pointed their amps in the direction of the country they were supposed to be playing in. Rich simultaneously played bass and glockenspiel in The Mysterious Mysterons (named in homage to his great uncle Septimus who may have provided the narration for Captain Scarlet). Audiences came from far and wide to be simultaneously enthralled and appalled by Rich's unorthodox mallet technique. Drummer Ian danced and mimed in novelty boy band McChimp and has since been plagued by chronic knee trouble and a fear of geese.
