Slipping back into disc rotation this month is the Club 8 and Club Mate pool-hall regular and e-dub’s own: DJ Seaweed.

Whether we’re opening back up or closing down again, The Weed continues to collate, catalog and collect, keeping the worldwide dream alive. For this mix he’s sharing a bunch of his lockdown lifesavers, the plates that helped fend off boredom in the depths of the second wave. A two-point-something hour journey through a handful of Discogs clickholes. Pretty housey. Sometimes techy. Not too many bangers, as usual.

Longtime legend and originator of the two can dance. Been known to give a friendly excited earful to anyone that will listen in front of the stacks. Packs more aliases than genres in his bag. A real family man.

Whether playing jungle, bass, dubstep or ambient it's always interesting with Gentleforce.
Eli's experience is extensive as a frequent DJ guest for the Voidsound crew and longtime friends with the Garage Pressure boys and Foreigndub Sydney collective.
Production wise, Eli has created ambient works for Kinderling Kids Radio thanks to Lorna Clarkson… Also presenting his live ambient sounds as Gentleforce at the Powerhouse Museum “Late Night” series or as Bushranger Vitalise night at Good Space Project.

Under his Gentleforce moniker Eli has put together an inter-dimensional workshop for a time in need of healing.

Azzawi (formally Alice D)has been at the helm of the infamous Asylum events and is a refined Sydney dj with a taste for all things UK and well into the beyond.

Energy Workshop welcomes Mincy to the series for Danceportal 27.

One of Sydney's busiest artists and label owners (the formidable Extra Spicy) has graciously put together a mind boggling mix that spans all spectrums of the bass sphere. The mix is a testament to her technical ability as she flawlessly eases through genres and tempos with confidence and without hesitation.

Mincy has just come off the back of a New Zealand tour but has no signs of slowing down. She is already locked in for another tour through New Zealand from the 21st of February and will be making her debut in Japan at the tail end of April.

On top of her highly engaged performance schedule, she has been tinkering away behind closed doors working on Extra Spicy's already impressive catalogue.
We would recommend keeping a close eye on Extra Spicy's next few announcements. Let's just say some big shows featuring internationals and a full release schedule for upcoming Extra Spicy releases featuring a host of new names and talent.

A well seasoned Dj, a man in the scene for many years and true to his roots. A vinyl dj producing a vinyl masterclass that is based from a deep analogue house upbringing with a hat tip to the U.S.
This mix is a testament to his influences and the plight of these genre's being less recognised within contemporary Eora gigs.

Words from the man himself:

"The mix was recorded during a somewhat impromptu Saturday session at home - I felt it turned out pretty well so why not share. Comprising of records I’ve collected over the past 15 years, with a theme of deep tones, sometimes euphoric, often melancholy, and with a touch of hope. 

Mixing records acts as a gauge for my mental state. When I’m feeling centred and calm, the process flows, the records pick themselves and emotions run high - it’s a beautiful thing. The more tactile nature of vinyl is expressed as a feeling, bypassing my overthinking brain. Funnily enough the opposite can be said when I’m feeling stressed!

I hope you enjoy this journey. I understand electronic music as a form of nonverbal communication. The artist’s conscious state digitised for others to absorb. They express feelings and states of being that cannot be adequately described by our limited linguistics. As I piece together these records I’m doing so as a patchwork of my own experience at the time of recording and hopefully it moves you as it moved me."

A moody, thoughtful and cohesive build throughout reflects a more introspective engagement with his carefully curated track selection.
