Hi, thanks for looking at my music work processes. I’m a long-time musician. I live in Tokyo, Japan. I have two music projects going. One is classical, the other (Energy Space Center) is more electronic.

Bio:

EnergySpaceCenter has been making music for more than 25 years. A self-taught musician from New York living in Japan, EnergySpaceCenter is a composer and multi-instrumentalist, having studied Pythagorean/Platonic mathematical musicology and other fields of music connected to spirituality, chaos theory, philosophy and biology.

With a myriad of musical influences such as Techno Animal, Jesu, Pink Floyd and Animal Collective, EnergySpaceCenter creates music falling in a wide range of genres, from guitar-based psychedelic music to classical and ambient electronic. His biggest goal is to make music that inspires people spiritually and emotionally.

“I try to approach music beyond myself; not to possess nor to be possessed, but to surrender control, to release myself and come into a relationship with something bigger than myself,” he said. “I make effort to stay really open but careful not to fall into bad habits. When I do it right, strange coincidences occur and everything lines up and falls into place naturally. I can’t even say it is me who is in control of the artistic process.”

His latest ep, Apertura, was described as, “Picnics and galaxies, dinosaurs and swamps, Mongolian desert horses, space stations, tropical beaches, people with flying suits and a luxurious astro-lab mountain retreat with a giant swimming pool in a land of snow, also telepathic birds and fish, botanical gardens, castles designed by MC Escher, herds of caribou and liquid spheres floating in a spaceship, deep sea excavation and realization of simultaneous presence on other planets. The first murder and its echoes through history, great wars and burning buildings, coerced paratrooping, early rocket prototypes and television, airplane graveyards and traffic jams, 1970s documentaries on hydroelectric power and the sexual revolution, desert winds and abandoned amusement parks, but also more bird language, cathedrals and balloon ships, hands cupping water, African savanna and other expansive lion habitat in the Pleistocene and also now and in the future in the Gir forest of Gujarat, great icebergs and also waving aquatic grasses, sea beams, giant translucent jellyfish, psychic tarantula, sloths and other types of tree weasels, Sarengeti bushman painted black and white, Naguals in caves and on cliffs and circling eagles on updrafts, giant pillars overgrown with plant life rising up through the clouds supporting great plateaus of vegetation and landing stations for spacecrafts.”
