Monocorpse is known for his thematically rich EPs, and the new "Manifestation EP" is no exception. From exploring Haitian Vodou to delving into The Manson Family murders, Monocorpse's creations always carry weighty concepts. This time, the focus is on serial killers and the haunting locations of their occult-driven crimes – a classic Monocorpse theme.

If you're familiar with Monocorpse's music, you'll find his signature style intact. The EP features minimalist tracks built around pulsating rhythms and eerie elements. What sets the "Manifestation EP" apart is its increased energy and dance-floor appeal, making these tracks among Monocorpse's most dance-friendly yet.

The Auva Duhr remix of a previous Monocorpse track takes things further into dance-floor territory, with an industrial electro vibe reminiscent of Ultradyne. And to round it off, there's a hypnotic, laid-back remix by Ye Gods that leaves you in a contemplative mood, craving more.

Dutch duo |grens| I discovered through their self-released tape “Geen Mens Die Op Mij Let”. Their music is a sort of ambient and lo-fi IDM which you could consider like a missing link between Civilistjävel! and Wanderwelle. For this album on Vrystaete they locked themselves up in a cabin somewhere isolated. The result is more a radio play then a regular album. There is a clear narrative throughout the album based on the development of the mood and structures of the individual tracks and their interrelation.

Maybe “de verborgen kamer” LP is a bit dark for a Vrystaete but the sounds are never too cold and the textures are never too rigid… making the overall feel playful and organic despite the dark electronic basis. Possible this is due to the way the record is recorded… much more like a live performance as a composed piece… speaking of live performances… |grens| have been building a strong name for themselves with their concerts… so for sure this is flowing back into their recorded music as well…

|grens| I consider a valuable addition to the Dutch electronic music scene and next to simple fact that I do like their music I find it important to keep supporting new and upcoming musicians from this part of the planet. I am curious to see how |grens| will evolve from now on and “de verborgen kamer” LP is an invitation for you to step on board the journey…

Although it has been silent around The Untitled since some time but he is still a name when it comes to acidcore. He has released his music on various labels such as Violent Cases, Acid Night/Toolbox Records and Gooiland Elektro and for the biggest part on his own label Uncompromising Analog Terror. That name of his own label is probably the best fitting description for his music: uncompromising analog terror. This new “Nachtwaker EP” is no exception. It will make your ears bleed.
Harsh pounding beats combined with piercing acid lines will leave no room for any escape. Immersing yourself in these sounds and enduring it as long as it takes is the only way.
Next to the four tracks by The Untitled this EP features two remixes by projects from Nihilist Sounds. Alpha Cyclone signs up for a sort of dark synth wave approach to one track creating a little bit of breathing space and head space. The Crabby rework leaves you behind with a 90’s breaks influenced sound.
