Pseudonym is a seasoned veteran when it comes to Drum & Bass, having been round the scene for a number of years and building his own signature sound through production, he’s managed to gain the backing of some huge artists such as Data 3, Pola & Bryson, SL8R and more, all the while managing to start a family in the process. 'Error' is a project which has gone through many variations and changes throughout its lifetime, but the wait has definitely been worth it. Linking up with other Co-Bossman of Off-License, as part of the duo High Demand, Tactcal shows off his heavy hitting basslines once more in this track, which are met with intricate percussion and choppy, cutting basses from the High Demand lads to create something rather weighty.

Tactcal & High Demand - Error (Original Mix) [OLR005]

Fresh off the back of a string of deadly releases on Zombie Recordings, Grid Recordings and Dutty Bass Audio, East Anglian drum and bass heavyweight Damageman offers up his first full release on Murky Digital in the form of the five-track EP Revenge. Spanning jump up, jungle and more, the new project even includes a collaboration with rising Ipswich DJ/producer Conrad Subs, resulting in one of the veteran producer’s most varied offerings to date. 

On the EP’s opener and title track “Revenge”, the Sub Heavy Audio founder introduces burgeoning basslines, snapping snares and deft cymbals to make for an amped-up, no-nonsense number. “Jungle Assassin”, as its title suggests, is a more old-school affair, utilising piano riffs, instantly recognisable old-school breaks and resonant 808s to create a booming banger. Meanwhile, Damageman enlists in the help of the critically acclaimed Conrad Subs on “Roll ‘Em Out”, which serves as a hard-hitting sequel to the pair’s 2019 weapon “Finally”. 

“Capsule” is one of the longstanding Suffolk selecta’s most guttural offerings to date, coupling rugged, staggered basslines with bruising breakbeats to create a sparse, yet immersive arrangement. Concluding the EP on a lighter note is the breezy “Gone But Not Forgotten”. Gentle keyboard chords and jazzy brass passages give way to hollow, glacial drops, resulting in an ambitious, genre-straddling sound which defies typical D&B style conventions, making for one of the long-standing artist’s most exciting offerings to date.
