The third track, a bonus to the release, is made in collaboration with Pavel Paperclip. This work certainly will not leave indifferent fans of neurotech sounding.

Three originals, one instrumental: the Hungarian hero – who’s slapped us into submission for many years on labels such as Mainframe, Bad Taste, Subtitles and Spearhead – has teamed up with some of the most respected individuals possible to create something truly special. Be under no illusions: this is big!

We launch with the breath-taking title track. Shimmering with the smouldering soul of MC Fedora (who last fronted with Chris.SU on last year’s massive ‘Guardian Angel’) and the golden tones of the legendary Stamina MC, it’s a subversive showstopper that not only drives any crowd deep into a trance-like state with its rushy synths and slippery basses… It also showcases some the best vocal skills we’ve ever heard from an MC partnership. Genuine lyrics, bona fide harmonies, serious skills. Drop it and watch your floor melt.   

Next up: ‘Above Earth’. Here we find Chris teaming up with long-term partners in grime State Of Mind. Their complementary styles and signatures already more than established, this is a chop-busting lesson in undiluted heavyweight sickness. Pneumatic steppy riddims, savage textures and tears and an overall finish that’s rougher than a sandpaper massage, it’s devilishly dirty!

Finally we hit ‘Stereotype’. A track that belies and defies its pigeonhole moniker, this creative fusion between Chris and fellow Hungarian troupe Spinline has resulted in a purring, space-bound roller that oozes metallic menace while remaining deep, driving and understated.   

Complete with an instrumental version of ‘Illusion Of Choice’, this really is a massive EP that will resonate with all corners of the drum & bass floor. We’ve said it before, we’ll say it now and we’ll say it in the future, too: It’s time to start believing in FATE.

They established a temporary hub deep in the catacombs of the urban ultrascape, a sanctuary far from the eyes of the flesh-wrapped bio species of this technologically primitive planet. They were the last few of what was supposed to have been a peaceful incursion, an optimistic greeting between species that now stood as a declaration of violence written in the broken shards of their fallen brothers. As the chaos had blossomed around them and the incident unfurled its catastrophic and unstoppable cycle of causal probabilities and terminal results, they watched as their speaker was torn apart by the masses that pushed in against their number. Its limbs were ripped from its body each in turn, flailing and spilling hydraulic fluid as it twisted, reaching out to choke fragile throats as those merciless hands destroyed the beings they viewed as abominations. They managed to retrieve what was left of the body, separated and broken, but its heart and brain intact. Now in their refuge, with a click the last component slipped into place, its eyes flickered into life and its hand closed tight, its first thought - of death – the need to squeeze the life out of those fragile frightened masses.

Aleksey Strokov know internationally as TOBAX is a young high calibre Drum & Bass DJ and producer who’s latest releases have won the support and praise from the likes of Noisia, June Miller, Ed Rush, Mejfus and A.M.C.
Having started his Drum & Bass career in the summer of 2010 under the name ‘Electronic Star’ Aleksey decided on the name TOBAX later that year. His music favours the harder side of DnB whilst also incorporating aspects of atmospheric backdrops in his music.
2011 is where Tobax career began to gain serious momentum as he started publishing his music by working with a number of smaller labels. In May of the same year TOBAX took to the stage in St Petersburg playing at ‘Griboedov’ where his mix was also featured on the radio and in 2013 TOBAX released successful tracks under Fokuz and Citrus Recordings.
The arrival of 2015 saw releases of his VIP version of ‘Mezzanine’ under Titan Records followed by his VIP version of ‘Lockdown’ which was released on the ‘5 Years of Titan Records Compilation, and it was these releases which gave him the launch pad for international bookings DJ’ing at nights across Europe such as the award winning ‘Double Trouble’ in Prague.
TOBAX is a DJ and Producer who pushes boundaries and in 2016 he teamed up with Prague based UK artist LifeSize MC to release ‘Extaziest/Golem’. Also collaborations with Disprove, Malux, Current Value.
With bookings already coming in and new releases being finalised, 2017 looks to be another exciting year for this young heavyweight producer from Russia who gains support from the likes of prolific artists such as Phace and Current Value.

Dmitry Nekrasov’s music has been described as “nothing short of organized chaos”, raw aggression that has been harnessed and sculptured into rhythmical dancefloor perfection. Hailing from St. Petersburg in Russia, Dmitry has been massively influenced by the neurofunk sounds of Corrupt Souls, Phace, Spor and Prolix. So much so, that in 2005 he felt inspired to put his own stamp on the drum+bass sub-genre.

After only three years of writing he signed his first track to Mayhem‘s Aesthetics label and although still a relative newcomer to the drum+bass scene, Dmitry is hot out the traps with releases on a host of labels including Hospital Records, Offshore Recordings, Uprising Records and Noisia‘s Invisible Recordings.

As he continues to build up a catalogue of future beats, including collaborations with fellow Russian compatriots Enei, Dissident and Receptor, Engage is on the up. With support from the likes of Noisia, Ed Rush, London Elektricity, Mayhem, Concord Dawn, Nphect and Ill Skillz, you are bound to be hearing more from this writer/producer/DJ in the months and years to come!
