Nasheer Garth Walters, a/k/a eNGee dadon, was born on the first of August, in the rural seaside town of Annotto Bay in the Parish of St. Mary in Jamaica. 

eNGee is a multitalented artist who writes, sings and produces music which has a dual purpose, to entertain and to educate. His style is a blend of unique and original lyrics and rhythms performed with high emotionality, drama and humor.  He presents a new interpretation of Reggae in the dancehall style, reinventing it and taking it to a new level.  The typical dancehall music style features lyrics which are raw, which appeals to a discrete audience who appreciates its expressive and explicit lyrics.  eNGee employs a more subtle approach, which allows him to connect with a wider audience, taking reggae music to the heights seen by one of his first mentors, Bob Marley. 

eNGee’s newest singles Sting Retards and 1800yardpimp fully demonstrates his wit and musical style.  Sting Retards is a summary of the artists in attendance and their performance, at Sting 2008.  In 1.800yardpimp, eNGee features international recording artist Red Rat, in a light tongue in cheek look at the world’s oldest profession through the eyes of the providers, the commodity they trade is girls. In their words “a bear gal we a sell.”   Another recent single, Immigrant, was released in January, 2009. It is a political commentary on the immigrant experience in America.  In Immigrant, eNGee reminds President Barack Obama that immigrants work three jobs just to survive and deserve a chance to live the American dream.

eNGee believes that his music touches people because his “lyrics inspires them and gives them confidence in themselves while at the same time they can relate to the music and dance to it at the same time.”  He will continue this trend with his upcoming releases which addresses current issues such as youth and guns, society’s reliance upon and relationship with the internet and cellular phone usage.

eNGee was known as a gifted child, full of creativity and talented in the performing arts.  His need to broaden his wings as an entertainer was not supported in his Christian home, so with a sense of purpose and adventure, he left home in search of a future as a musician and entertainer, at the tender age of eleven. 

At age fourteen, eNGee was discovered by Disc Jockey Youthman Troy, who regularly would spin tunes at the Roof Night Club in Ocho Rios.  eNGee was oftentimes the winner of the Talent Contest held there on Tuesday evenings.  Youthman Troy took him to Kingston and recorded eNGee’s first single called “God is my closest friend”, a dance hall song which was played frequently at the Roof Night Club.
