“Time is a landscape and if you had the right perspective […], you would see all of it laid out in front of you. All past, present, and future as a whole thing.

And he said, ‘[…] my friend is just over the next hill. He's still there. We can't see him where we are now, but we are on this landscape with him and he still exists just as much as he ever has.‘”

Drawing inspiration from Michelle Thaller‘s perspective on time and loss, this song started out as a studio jam and evolved into its final form, using a variety of tools and instruments in the process.

From an old reel-to-reel tape machine lending its melancholic feel to the pads it was playing back at half-speed, to the restless modulation of the percussive theme emerging from Eurorack modules, this blend of live improvisation and meticulous crafting attempts to capture a glimpse at the vastness of the temporal landscape, as well as the intimate feeling of accepting loss as part of existence.
