‘Carcerem’, the Latin word for prison, is the Anjunabeats debut from Paul Thomas & Funkagenda.

The co-owner and head of A&R of Aly & Fila’s Future Sound of Egypt imprint, Paul Thomas has blurred the lines between underground progressive and trance for 15 years. You can find his music in the record bags of Above & Beyond, CamelPhat and Carl Cox, and Paul has released official remixes for deadmau5, Underworld and Mark Knight.

A jack of all trades, Funkagenda’s impact on dance music is undeniable. Originally championed by Defected Records, Positiva, Subliminal, Azuli and Big Love, he became a key part of Toolroom Records in the late 2000’s. He’s remixed for Lady Gaga, Fatboy Slim, Moby and Basement Jaxx, and his production work on The Black Eyed Peas’ album ‘The E.N.D.’ was recognised with ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ award at the 2010 GRAMMYs.

Ilnaz Tarkhanov, aka Cramp, returns to Anjunabeats with latest single 'Unity'.

An old friend of the label, Cramp debuted on Anjunabeats in 2008 with 'Deadline'. He followed up with 'RU116' in 2011. Featured on Anjunabeats Volume 9 and premiered during Above & Beyond’s now legendary A State of Trance 500 set, ‘RU116’ set our Anjunabeats message board ablaze, with fans scouring the web for the identity of its creator. Cramp kindly supplied an updated club mix for our 20 Years of Anjunabeats celebrations, with his 2020 update receiving a spin in Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 400 set.

He returns to the label with ‘Unity’, unveiled by A&B once again during their Group Therapy 500 celebrations in Los Angeles last year.

Northern Irish producer GVN releases ‘Thinking About You / Believer’.

Gavin Brown, aka GVN, dropped his Anjunabeats debut ‘I Don’t’ in 2021 as a serious statement of intent. First introduced to the label by anamē’s Marcus Schössow, the two would go on to collaborate on the 700th Anjunabeats release, ‘Take Me There’, which earned spins from Tibasko, Lane 8, Kryder, Anja Schneider, Armin van Buuren, Giuseppe Ottaviani and many more.

The Derry-native showed no signs of slowing down in the years that followed, serving up remixes for the likes of Lange and Chakra and attracting support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Danny Howard. Both tracks on GVN’s last Anjunabeats release, ‘Save Me / Alone’, quickly shot to the Top 10 of the Beatport Breaks Chart.

GVN returns to the label this year with his dynamic double-header ‘Thinking About You / Believer’, which straddles the line between breakbeat, progressive house and trance.

Expect more new music from GVN in the coming months. ‘Thinking About You / Believer’ is out now on Anjunabeats.
