尾道という瀬戸内海に面した小さな街がある。海と山が添い寝をしてるような街だ。山の頂で寝っ 転がってKalmを聞きはじめる。眼窩の海と島を行き交う車が良いBGV(back ground view)になる。Anankeのドローンと共にゆっくり起き上がると、デヴィッド・リンチのようなじれったい カメラの移動が始まる。木々が不穏に揺れる。山手の路地はヴァラナシの路地へ変容する。口琴はサドゥーの声。猫がこちらを凝視している。宿が どこかわからなくなってしまったが、このま まずっと彷徨っていたい気持ちもある。なんとかたどり着いたら朝。ベッドの中で、階下で料理 をしている女たちの理解できない言葉を聞くともなしに聞いている。食器の触れあう音がいつの まにかタブラに変わっている。ああ、このまま俺は知らない異国の街で行方不明になるのもいい なあ。頭とカラダがしびれている。ふと、優しいギターの音色がそっと引き戻してくれる。 Enitokwaは、ちゃんと家に帰り着くように道を用意してくれていた。

僕のエレクトロミュージックシーンの中でもしかしたら最も長い大切な友人であるEnitokwa、彼と出会ったのはボストンに留学中なので、 ザッと考えてももう既に24年以上は経っている。そして彼がまさに今準備し終えたこのアルバムは本当にある時空と空間を超越するかの如く魂 を揺さぶられる。それは全ての曲がEnitokwaとしての今を語ってる様に思える。長きに渡り真正面から自分自身へと向き合える作り手はそうは居な い。彼はそんな稀少な存在の一人である と思ってる。

僕達は1993か94年だったと思うが、ボストンのあるクラブを貸し切ってイベントをやった事がある。その時も今と変わらずマックを持ち込 み、作り上げたシーケンスをMIDIと CV/GATEを使い沢山のアナログ機材に囲まれた状態でライブをした事があったが、もしかすると彼とのコラボレーションはまさしくあの時ま で遡るのだと思う。いつかその音源や映像もま た皆さんに公開出来る事もあるかも知れません。

さて、今回僕はそんな彼のアルバムへ Yoshitake君と共に一曲とても素敵な作品に参加しました。出来上がった事をとても光栄に思っ てます! 僕は最大限に彼の今表現しようと試みている時空と空間にスッと溶け込む事だけを心 掛け言わばそれは自動手記の如く流れる様に音が見え、そういう事だったかと納得出来るそれ はとても不思議であり、また必然を感じざるをえない作業でした。勿論その曲は最高の出来上 がり! これ以上細かい事は書かない方が良いけど、ある曲は聴いていて自然と涙が出て来た。 涙は魂が揺さぶられた時しか基本的に出てこない、このアルバムはそういうアルバムなんです。

Ladoo/Laddu【ラドゥー】という名前のセモリナ粉でつくった生地を油で揚げたちょっとパワフル なお菓子がある。 中世インドのチョーラ朝が栄えた時代、派兵や探検といった命にかかわる出来 事に際して、無事を祈る意味で、その菓子を持たされて人びとが出かけたという。

この菓子は、現代でも例えば、インド亜大陸料理のお店でもひょっこり食べることができるチャン スに恵まれることが有るかもしれないが、少しばかりお節介気味の甘味と濃厚な油脂の旨味が、 浅草・浅草寺そばの仲見世に在る「九重の揚げまんぢゅう」や、大坂で云うと、文楽劇場の在る通 り沿いに在る「玉製家のおはぎ~特にきな粉の御萩~」とか、四天王さん門前の「釣鐘屋の釣鐘ま んじゅう」といった銘菓のような味わいをしていたりするから、おもしろい。

その味覚は、あ~旨いッ!…できることなら、もっとたくさん食べていたいもんだナァ…と、あ とを引く味なのだけど、どっこぃ、それぐらいにして、控えとこうか…というような味わいなの だ。

このときに生じる「抑制」は、美容室や理髪店で髪を整えたばかりのときに誰か仲の良い人に逢い たくなるような気持ちだとか、幼い頃に親に連れられて出かけた時の淡い想い出が立ち現れては、 現在時間に戻されるような、儚げだが、たつぷりと愛おしく、優しい時間に満ちている。

時間は、一方向にだけ伸びていくわけではなく、多方向に、それも異なる時間軸を併存させ、姿 と形を変幻させながら絶え間なく円環していて、ちょうど、南洋の環礁がそうであるように、重力 を伴うと、旧い木造家屋や茶の席にうってつけの庵の様に行き来に適度な敷居や距離をつくる。
このような時間と空間の複層的なタイムラインの「圏外」とでも云えるような領域を、縫い物の裏地 のように返してみよう。

そこは、実際には日本から2300マイル離れたマーシャル諸島に在るEniwetok環礁で、1944年1月、 日本軍と米軍とのあいだで「エニウェトクの戦い」が交わされた激戦地であり、のちの1950年代に は核実験が行われた場所である。その場所は、地球に背中があると仮定すると、掻きたい手が届かず痒くて痒くてどうにもならな い…とでもいうような「パワースポット」だとも思う。

2000年以降、多くのパワースポットは半ば観光地化され、本来はヒトの出入りを拒むような人智 の及ばぬ過酷な自然の形相をあらわにしながら活動していたのだろうと想像するが、そのような意 味では、皮肉にも望まれぬ経緯でパワースポット化してしまった場所のように思えてならない。

さて、エニトクワという名前の語感とともに彼の『2069』を感じ乍ら、背筋を伸ばして居ると、 どうしても何かやむを得ぬ事情で変容を迫られてきた人間の営みの限界域を翻訳しながら更新しよ うとする、頑なだが果てしなく、しなやかな意志を感じる。

その意志は、私たちの一定でないココロが「襖」や「屏風」のようなものだとすると、長い年月を経 て朽ちかけた襖絵の修復を生業とする表具師のように素晴らしく簡潔で、奥が深い。

Mr. Isao Tomita, a pioneer of synthesizer music, has left a word that "electronic and human beings are phenomena" as well as before life. That moment and eternity the dust of the universe gathers and eventually returns to the dust of the universe. Listening to Enitokwa's music, such feelings go round.

シンセサイザー・ミュージックの先駆者、富田勲さんが生前に、「電子音も人間も現象である」と言葉を残されています。宇宙の塵が集合し、やがてまた宇宙の塵へと戻る、その一瞬と永遠。Enitokwaの音楽を聴いて、そんな想いが巡ります。

It is a sound richly containing theanine (sweet ingredient of tea), a gem that can taste slowly and lean heart. A documentary scenery sound reminiscent of the tea making process at Ujikoen is arranged in the whole story, and the virtuous thing with a frankly act is very refreshing. 
Please try to entrust with peace of mind in "definite" works  which extracted carefully every single drop.

It has been inherited the calmness from Keizan Temple constantly since 700 years ago. 
How does the former pioneers feel the fragrance that Enitokwa brings up？

テアニン(お茶の甘み成分)を芳醇に含んだ音であり、心を傾けてゆっくりと味わうことの出来る逸品。宇治香園での製茶工程を想起させるドキュメンタリーな風景音が全編に配置されており、そこはかとない作為との妙がとても静涼です。 一滴一滴丁寧に抽出された"確実な"作品に安心して身を委ねてみて下さい。

CLASSIC-NEWWAVE-HARDCORE-INDUSTRIALを通過後渡米、90年代初期NYCの音楽文 化に影響を受け音源制作開始。1994年、DJ K.U.D.O. aka ARTMANを中心に設立されたSpace Lab Yellow傘下East Edge RecordsのARTIST兼A&Rとして東京テクノシーンにデビュー。以後 Techno、House、Ambient、現代音楽、即興演奏、フィールド録音、DJを独自の視点で表現、作 品をリリースし続けている。2019年より北九州⇄大阪の2拠点で活動中。

2015年よりShigeki Ieguti(PARA,Kruispunt,EP-4[fn.ψ]) ,MAYUKo(CROSSBRED, SYNTH SISTERS)との即興電子音Trio “Kruispunt”に参加。2016年、HIROSHI WATANABE、 YOSHITAKE EXPE、SYNTH SISTERS等を迎え制作されたソロアルバム 2069、2017年には宇 治香園 Tealightsoundシリーズ3作目として o.n.s.a. をリリース。2021年11月ベルリンの新興レー ベルFuture Friendより2002年リリースの限定CDR promo. が Re-Promo. としてレコードで再発 された。


After passing through CLASSIC-NEWWAVE-HARDCORE-INDUSTRIAL, he moved to the United States and started producing sound sources under the influence of NYC's music culture in the early 90's. In 1994, he made his debut in the Tokyo techno scene as ARTIST and A&R of East Edge Records under Space Lab Yellow, which was established mainly by DJ K.U.D.O.aka ARTMAN. Since then, he has continued to release his works, expressing Techno, House, Ambient, contemporary music, improvisation, field recording, and DJ from his own perspective. Since 2019, he has been active at two bases in Kitakyushu ⇄ Osaka.

Since 2015, he has participated in the improvisational electronic sound Trio “Kruispunt” with Shigeki Ieguti (PARA, Kruispunt, EP-4 [fn.ψ]) and MAYUKo (CROSSBRED, SYNTH SISTERS). In 2016, he released a solo album 2069 produced with HIROSHI WATANABE, YOSHITAKE EXPE, SYNTH SISTERS, etc., and in 2017, released o.n.s.a. as the third work of the Ujikaen Tealightsound series. In November 2021, the limited CDR promo. Released in 2002 from Berlin's emerging label Future Friend was reissued on vinyl as Re-Promo.

2016年初頭、最果ての超現実ユートピア・ドローンアルバム​“​2069”​​をリリースし たEnitokwaの新作は江戸時代から続く京都の茶問屋、宇治香園が提唱する ”Tealightsound”​​シリーズ第3弾。自然音、環境音と電子音、プリペアードピアノが 渾然一体に昇華した環境音楽奇観絵巻。

I think that ambient music is the music that does not limit how to listen. I hope this album will be familiar to each way of listening to music.

Enitokwa

Mr. Isao Tomita, a pioneer of synthesizer music, has left a word that "electronic and human beings are phenomena" as well as before life. That moment and eternity the dust of the universe gathers and eventually returns to the dust of the universe. Listening to Enitokwa's music, such feelings go round.

シンセサイザー・ミュージックの先駆者、富田勲さんが生前に、「電子音も人間も現象である」と言葉を残されています。宇宙の塵が集合し、やがてまた宇宙の塵へと戻る、その一瞬と永遠。Enitokwaの音楽を聴いて、そんな想いが巡ります。

Chee Shimizu

It is a sound richly containing theanine (sweet ingredient of tea), a gem that can taste slowly and lean heart. A documentary scenery sound reminiscent of the tea making process at Ujikoen is arranged in the whole story, and the virtuous thing with a frankly act is very refreshing.
Please try to entrust with peace of mind in "definite" works which extracted carefully every single drop.

It has been inherited the calmness from Keizan Temple constantly since 700 years ago.
How does the former pioneers feel the fragrance that Enitokwa brings up？

テアニン(お茶の甘み成分)を芳醇に含んだ音であり、心を傾けてゆっくりと味わうことの出来る逸品。宇治香園での製茶工程を想起させるドキュメンタリーな風景音が全編に配置されており、そこはかとない作為との妙がとても静涼です。 一滴一滴丁寧に抽出された"確実な"作品に安心して身を委ねてみて下さい。

Debuted in 1994 with the "Enitokwa EP" from East Edge Records, a subsidiary of the legendary club Space Lab Yellow, at the dawn of  Tokyo  techno scene. Based on Industrial, Noise, Techno, House, and Ambient, he continues to pursue the sublimation of consciousness beyond the pleasure and ecstasy of music. His album Floating Works 1996-1999 (SONIC PLATE) released in 1999 was published in ele-king books' 90's Disc Guide Japanese music edition (2021) and has been handed down through the ages.
In recent years, in 2021, "Re-Promo" (live rehearsal sound source in France in 2001) from Berlin's Future Friend Music was reissued as 2×12”vinyls, played on GiGi FM on NTS Radio. The album "2069" released in 2016 has been highly evaluated overseas, such as being posted on the chart of Daniel Avery. Also, the unit "EYS" with YSK, the leader of Kitakyushu Sound Spaceα `s 1st. Album “Palette” (Muzan Editions 2023), and the 2nd album "Steganos-graphia" of the electronic music trio "Kruispunt" with IEGUTI and MAYUKo (Hanging in the wall 2023 ) has just been released. His latest solo work can be heard on MEDIUM AMBIENT COLLECTION 2022 (Medium Music 2022) and his own label non-entertainment-research.

1994年に伝説的クラブSpace Lab Yellow傘下のEast Edge Recordsから”Enitokwa EP”にて東京テクノ黎明期にデビュー。Industrial, Noise, Techno, House, Ambientをベースに音楽の快楽と恍惚の先にある意識昇華を追求し続けている。1999年にリリースされたアルバムFloating Works 1996-1999 (SONIC PLATE)はele-king booksの90’s Disc Guide 邦楽編（2021)に掲載され時代を超えて語り継がれている。
