This sound piece was designed by musician Riki Gooch to accompany the exhibition 'Ngā hau o Tāwhirimātea' by Hana Pera Aoake and Taarn Scott.

Gooch has used four types of sound sources to represent each wind
direction: Hauraro - blowing pūtātara and felted piano; Tonga - swinging microphones; Hauāuru - harmonic/overtone flutes; Marangai - feedback from guitar and organ.

Miles McDougall presents Theta 6.3 Hz, a sound work developed as a response to Tom Mackie’s 'Open Facade'.  The work uses a combination of Theta rhythms, whispered dialogue, and natural references to connect with the tranquil, and transitionary, visual and visceral experience of the exhibition. 

The audio was presented at Enjoy Public Art Gallery,Friday, April 11 , 5:30pm

Dreaming of Lulu

Dreaming of Lulu is a solo exhibition by Pōneke-based artist Christopher Ulutupu. Reimagining music videos for 1970s Samoan love songs from groups such as Punialavaa, Penina Tiafau and Tiama’a, this is the first iteration of a new body of work by Ulutupu called 5 songs that explores music’s ability to travel across diasporic, cultural and intergenerational spaces.

Wishing Well is part of an ongoing research project by artist Wai Ching Chan that takes Chinese Knots 中国结 as a starting point to explore relationships between tauiwi and Tangata Whenua in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The installation is developed following two one-day workshops held earlier this year at Enjoy, during which the artist led a range of participants in learning three traditional knots. These events also acted as an invitation to make conversation and to broadly consider the symbolism of knots—and whatever else came about through the learning process—in dialogue with others. While Chinese Knots are sometimes misunderstood as merely decorative objects, they create material links between the past, present and future.
