ėnjoysm is a french composer born in haiti. from his real name joseph dubruque, ėnjoysm invites everyone to a deep reflection on another vision of the world, through a music at the crossroads of positive nostalgia and reassuring dystopia.

Jean-Michel Jarre est un artiste qui a illuminé notre parcours depuis notre arrivée en France en 1985 à 3 ans, adopté, mon grand frère autiste et moi, en provenance d’Haïti. Très tot, j’ai personnellement découvert la musique de M. Jarre avec mon frère, dès l’âge de 6 ans, jouant mes premières notes sur un clavier Bontempi, éveillant une passion qui ne m’a plus quitté. Cette musique nous a accompagné tous les 2 dans notre nouveau monde, dans notre monde. 

Les champs magnétiques, Rendez-vous, la compile Images, Révolutions ont profondément influencé ma vie et donc par corollaire, celle de Sam (mon frère). Bien que je n’aie jamais eu l’occasion d’assister à ses concerts géants de l’époque, j’ai suivi sa trajectoire à travers des enregistrements VHS et des collections d’albums, en vinyle et CD. Mon frere etant un grand fan de lumières, il est comme hypnotisé par elle, nous avons tous les deux attendu des années avant que ce reve se realise à Versailles, le 25 decembre 2023. 

Au delà de tout, l’album “Chronologie” a été une révélation, pour moi, renforçant ma croyance en la puissance de l’Univers qui s exprimait à travers la dimension du temps, une dimension rendu perceptible dans un album complet. Visionnaire aussi. 

Aujourd’hui, j’ai grandi, mon frère aussi. On a 41 ans. En tant que directeur de création et musicien, j’ai fondé un groupe nommé « ėnjoysm », avec mon frère.
Je sollicite une rencontre avec M. Jarre, car je suis persuadé que cette rencontre va exister. Je me trompe sûrement. Mais j y crois fortement. 

Avec mon frère ce serait un moment inoubliable. Pour échanger sur la musique, pour éventuellement guider mes premiers pas dans l’univers musical. Pour parler de Mélancolique Rodéo… En signe de ma profonde admiration, je joins une interprétation personnelle de “Eldorado”. Je souhaite ardemment que cette lettre puisse nous ouvrir la voie à un échange enrichissant avec M. Jarre.


jean-michel jarre has been an artist who has lit our path ever since we arrived in france in 1985, at the age of three, adopted from haiti — my older autistic brother and me. very early, i discovered mr. jarre’s music with my brother. at six years old, i played my first notes on a bontempi keyboard, awakening a passion that never left me. his music guided both of us in this new world… in our world.

magnetic fields, rendez-vous, the images compilation, and révolutions deeply shaped my life and, through me, sam’s life as well. even though i never had the chance to attend his giant concerts from that era, i followed his work through vhs recordings and our collection of vinyl and cds. my brother, a huge fan of lights, is hypnotized by them. both of us waited many years before this dream came true in versailles, on december 25, 2023.

above all, the album chronologie was a revelation for me. it strengthened my belief in the power of the universe expressed through the dimension of time — a dimension made almost tangible in this visionary album.

today, we have grown. my brother and i are now 41. as a creative director and musician, i founded a group called ėnjoysm with him.

i would like to request a meeting with mr. jarre because i truly feel this encounter is meant to happen. maybe i’m wrong, but i believe in it deeply.

for my brother and me, this would be an unforgettable moment — to talk about music, to receive a bit of guidance as i take my first steps into the musical world, to speak about mélancolique rodéo… as a sign of my deep admiration, i am sharing a personal interpretation of “eldorado.”

i sincerely hope this letter opens the door to a meaningful exchange with mr. jarre.
