Circuitbreaks EP Minimix

A somatic and sonic journey into Red Sprites.
Ecstatic to share my depiction of these through the medium of music
Leading up to the release I asked the question, apart from their general allure as a fascinating, powerful phenomenon, how do I relate with these as beings?

Well when you look at the structure you notice their dendritic electrical formations are not so dissimilar from the formations of the root structures of plants. And in turn, also dissimilar to that of the structure of our own body's neural pathways.
These Sprites fall under the umbrella of a 'Transient, Luminous Event'
I find that we, as humans, as sentient beings, experience transient luminosity all the time.
Whether it be through momentous spikes of inspiration, when we lock into a topic or task, our brains may be lighting up in that same way, that same flashing ionic reaction which causes us to scintillate into excitatory experience.
The nature of transience being subject to whatever stretch of time we compare it to. With this in mind, our very lives as a whole could be considered 'Transient, luminous events'. Where the luminosity projects inward and outward as soon as we animate into this world.

TLDR: above so below etc etc we are the red sprites of the ground level of earth so big up yaself ya mad jesus

The EP opens with “POV,” a track that draws in with atmospheric textures, precision-engineered basslines, and subtle undertones. It sets the tone for a weighty .
“End Of The Line” follows with ominous energy, combining haunting synths, crisp percussion, and a pulsating low end that creates an unrelenting sense of tension and anticipation. 

On “Violence,” the intensity ramps up with ethereal, stuttering rhythms, and a cavernous bassline that feels both visceral and otherworldly. 
The final track, “Lonely Bass,” shifts into introspective territory, exploring vast sonic spaces with minimalist precision. 
The release will be available as digital download and streams and is coming out on Soul Ex Machina, February 21st 2025.

An artist who has been speed running up the ranks in popularity with releases on prestigious and respected labels such as Dispatch Recordings and Flexout Audio, and a multitude of features already on under his belt on the Yamatai imprint solidifying himself as one of our labels most successful and favourite artists.

We can now happily announce Acris' return to the label with his absolutely outrageous two track club smasher ‘Dog Funk / Badman Sound.

The king of sound design is back after a short hiatus. Since his last appearance on the highly acclaimed Unseen Forces EP back in December Leon has been on a mission of pure dominance in the Drum & Bass scene. Releasing banger after banger. The budding Austrian producer cannot be stopped and is a ever evolving artist, with each release out doing his last. With recent success over on our good friends over at Transparent Audio and native Austrian label Empathy Audio, Leon has been paving a way for his name across the globe and we love to see it!

It’s been so refreshing to sit back and what his progression over the last few years. Starting with his debut track ‘Let It Go’ back in April last year which was a heavily focused liquid anthem that took the world by storm then rolling to December with arguably his most popular release ever his ‘Unseen Forces EP’. Two massively different styles which further showcased Leon’s immense ability to write any style to an outstanding quality.

‘Dog Funk / Badman Sound’ are once again a showcase of this versatility that Acris possesses. One track that is heavily focused on aggressive basses, sharp transitions and thumping drums while the other is styled more to the old foghorn style with a new age twist.

Acris is back with two new club tracks, both outrageous and ready to cause another stir!
