Drew McDowall (Coil) 
Drew McDowall is a Scottish born, NYC based composer and musician. He was a member of Coil in the ‘90s contributing heavily to some of their most respected and influential works.
An artist who has refused to conform in music and in life, McDowall mines the hallucinatory spaces that exist between reality and transcendental otherness. His work has been described as “sacraments to alterity”, with meditative compositions that are haunting and spiritual, melding intricate modular soundscapes with acoustic instruments and cut-up field recordings, deconstructing and reconfiguring sounds into otherworldly structures and shapes. The disorienting ambient mirages that result elicit terror, tender melancholy, and always heavenly flickers of expansive beauty. 
He has been releasing solo albums on Dais Records since 2015, and his fifth studio album, A Thread, Silvered and Trembling, will be released in May 2024. McDowall is known for his diverse collaborations, working with Kali Malone, Catarina Barbieri, Robert Aki Aubrey Lowe, Hiro Kone, Varg, Puce Mary, Shapednoise and others and has performed at many international festivals including CTM, Berlin Atonal, Dark Mofo, Unsound, Le Guess Who, Semibreve, WOS and Ambient Church.

When Aljoscha's father placed cassettes of jungle, ambient and drum'n'bass in the hands of his seven-year-old son, he had no idea that he had just passed on to him the soundtrack of his life.
This heritage of multiple textures has been transformed into multiple aliases, including AJO, a character who transcends the boundaries of genres and time.
Signed to labels such as Electric Shapes and Mana Abundance, AJO invokes tribal elements and inter-astral electronic sounds. A primitive, almost animal quest dances between the German producer's synthesizers.
His new album, ‘God Is A Single Infinite Painting That Has No Frame’, adds to his psychedelic ambient and EBM-tinged electrooid explorations. Four remixes by YADÜ, La Serpiente, HyperLili and Théo Muller add an even more contemplative dimension to this opus, released on Ethos Records.

Oratio #5 w/ AJO (20/11/24)

after another funny but fruitful evening of our cute online gathering in preparation of the next glyk event, everyone feels happy with the shape that our collective thoughts take. during the next weeks, i'm v thankful for the shared pics of people having fun setting up, while i prepare and piece together

i arrive in leipzig on the first verrry cold night of the year. tired and hit by slushy rain hurting my fingers, i'm warmly welcomed by christoph and his old friends. we are joking laughing eating pizza at pekar, yummy :) after splitting up, having our own missions in old dmx board menu diving pain (but fun result) and feeling the urge to work on last bits, we would meet again in the hallway confused blasting laughing wishing dreams

at noon, hugs on hugs later, everyone is gathered and i'm more than thankful for peoples hard working hands that turned our thoughts yet again into another beautiful space that made its way into reality ~ its such a pleasure to feel connected with all of u ✨

that day and night, we couldnt care less about the freezing cold outside, getting comfy in the ever changing room of jackets dripping in pulsating lights. while tram after tram pushes low end frequencies into our bellies, we prost with our golden bergtee und goldmelisse that was harvested and served with love by René. the same tea that grew next to us all playing around at this years summer gathering on his little farm 🥰

its late for a long day and i need to lay down somewhere quiet. the windows disapear completly in fog now, as christoph and fabi mark their first few hours (it could go forever and ever) in celebration of yet another compilation of music that touches challenges moves suprises often can and should be unbequem
