This is my contribution to the PLF Producers, Oops All Swirls! compilation

To my musical ear, Pretty Lights production is already perfect so I had some reservations about submitting a remix for this project when first approached by Jordan
 After giving it some thought, I decided to treat this more like an edit than a remix. I wasn’t interested in creating a new version or altering something I already considered flawless. But an edit gave me room to rearrange and re contextualize rather than replace
 I chose my favorite Pretty Lights track, High School Art Class, and immediately started digging through live versions from the past two years. I pulled out moments that stood out to me most and began weaving them together with elements of the original studio production
 What ended up happening was the creation of a new swirl from my favorite swirls while still keeping true to important elements and transitions in the song
 Once I had the arrangement locked, I recorded some original guitar lines and as a final touch, layered in some of my favorite Bob Ross quotes to act as a gentle guide through the track, because who better to teach Art Class than Bob Ross?
 Big shout out to Jordan and Mikey Thunder for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this collab

When the City Starts to Breathe

(A beautiful, corrupted hallucination—the AI translation glitch version of Logik Mit Verräterischem Puls)

This track is a happy accident—a beautiful digital artifact born from a system error. When feeding the original German "Logik Mit Verräterischem Puls" lyrics to an AI for a straightforward English translation, something glitched. Instead of translating, it hallucinated: it rebuilt the heart-vs-head dialogue as a full-blown, theatrical orchestral-industrial opera, complete with stage directions, sound cues, and a narrative arc that didn't exist in the original.

What makes this artifact particularly fascinating are the German-English fragments that pepper the hallucination: occasional German phrases bleed through the English translation, creating a bilingual liminal space where neither language dominates—both become raw material for the glitch. The AI didn't just translate; it sampled both languages, creating a hybrid text where "Herz" and "Heart," "Logik" and "Logic" coexist in the same corrupted stream.

The result is this beautiful, fragmented masterpiece: a solo cello arguing with a factory clank; soaring string quartets shredded by EBM beats; a "Fragile Masterpiece" (Heart) painting with every nerve, and an "Efficient Machine" (Head) calculating stress points. The glitch didn't break the concept—it expanded it into a vivid, cinematic hallucination where emotion is "a canvas stretched too thin" and logic is "the gilded frame."

I fell in love with this corrupted output. It's the sound of a translation engine malfunctioning into poetry—a beautiful bug where "Canvas and Code" forge their impossible alloy in a space between languages.

Concept: Heart (Canvas, Cello, Emotion) vs. Head (Code, Machine, Logic) as a corrupted, theatrical dialogue
