The ‘Fragments XXVII’ artwork features an image of an ocean sunfish, taken by Brooke Pyke. Brooke is an award-winning marine life photographer from Australia, based on Ningaloo Reef in WA. With a background in diving, she now focuses on ocean, travel, and adventure photography, capturing the beauty of the underwater world since 2014.

The mola mola, or ocean sunfish, is the heaviest bony fish in the world and plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy ocean food web by controlling populations of jellyfish, their primary prey. By keeping jellyfish numbers in check, mola molas help protect smaller fish and plankton, which are crucial for the diets of many marine species and the overall balance of ocean ecosystems.
