The idea for this track dates back to 2021, a little over 4 years ago. Initially, I wasn't satisfied with the idea (maybe because it doesn't carry as much personal emotional weight as other tracks I've made, or quality-wise it isn't the best), but recently I decided to give it another shot!

It is exciting sometimes to revisit old ideas! Never discard an idea forever, there might be someone out there eager to listen to them. Even if it's not perfect for you, it could be the perfect song for someone else.

For some reason, I visualize this track surrounded by greenery, which is why I decided to name it "Esmeralda", the Spanish word for "Emerald". 💚☘️🍃

The Fragments series returns with its thirty-third edition, ‘Fragments XXXIII’, presenting a captivating trio of tracks from both returning and debuting artists on Purified Records. Australian producer Ariv3 follows with ‘Rapture’; a lush, organic journey featuring intricate piano lines, percussive textures and inventive sound design that evokes a serene, centering experience. Closing the release, Cornelius SA joins forces with UK-based Skyknock for their label debut with ‘Echoes’; a reflective and ambient melodic piece that balances stripped-back instrumentation with gentle dancefloor motion, creating a soothing yet engaging finale. Seamlessly blending emotion, texture and forward-thinking production, ‘Fragments XXXIII’ reaffirms the series as a showcase for nuanced artistry and melodic exploration.

Taken by Rachel Moore, the ‘Fragments XXXIII’ artwork features a mother humpback whale with her calf, resting in the warm clear waters of Mo’orea, French Polynesia. Rachel is a professional underwater photographer and environmental advocate dedicated to capturing the wonders of marine life. With a special focus on the grace and intelligence of humpback whales, her storytelling inspires a deeper connection to the ocean and a commitment to its preservation.

Whales are just one of many species that depend on French Polynesia’s unique and fragile ecosystems.
