Following the release of the first single ‘Hometown’, featuring Ursula Rucker, Simon Doty now shares his full four-track EP ‘Hometown’, including the collaborative lead single ‘Lay Me Down’ with Artche.

Opening the EP is title-track ‘Hometown’, featuring a vocal sample from Ursula Rucker and piano riffs. Doty collaborates with UK based producer and vocalist Artche on ‘Lay Me Down’. Best known for his Beatport #1 collaboration with Cristoph and Franky Wah ‘The World You See’, Artche has been supported by acts including Eric Prydz, Pete Tong & Lane 8. Next up is ‘Solstice’, featuring fluttering arps, whilst EP closer ‘Trance Tool’ pays homage to Doty’s darker club side. 

Since his debut on 2019’s Anjunadeep Explorations 11 with ‘Sama’, Simon Doty has put out five stand out EPs on the label, quickly becoming a Anjunadeep favourite. The Canadian producer has developed a reputation for delectable deep melodic house, garnering support from the likes of Phil Taggart, Danny Howard, Gorgon City, Cassian, Jax Jones, Lane 8, and releasing on Knee Deep In Sound, Einmusika, and This Never Happened.

Our virtual globetrotter, PASSENGER 10, just returned from his well deserved vacation. He spent his days off in the extended world of virtuality, in the detached world of fantasy, algorithm. Wow, the world algorithm I had to google how to correctly spell. What sense does this English spelling make? It is a "rhythm" after all, pronounced exactly the same, so why the different spelling than its originator?
The world makes no sense whatsoever sometimes. But let's not get lost in facts we are already aware of, let's dive into the crazy world of our virtual globetrotter, who thinks he is a traveler and who thinks he is getting around to eventually become a wise man. Let's be honest, he sits tight, with the virtual reality glasses on, staring right into the scripted reality of meaningless nonsense, and doesn't get anywhere. But what does the real world hold? The quantum physics tells us we're only particles floating in space and just here and there, in random orders, two particles match and form a new particle. So what is the real reality now?
Well, it all ends with a boom, with the white light that leads us into god knows what. Why am I using that word "God" here all the time? Who is that anyways? And which god should we refer to? Our virtual globetrotter leaves in the virtual world, so the creator of that would be of human origin, I presume. Hm, that can't be right? Does our globetrotter have to admire and worship a man of flesh and blood? A woman? I mean, who was the very first person who opened up the world of technology anyways? Tesla? Thomas Edison? I mean you wouldn't think our virtual globetrotter is going for a modern marketing salesman such as Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, that were just the representative of their own capitalizing entity that eventually wanted to win us over for an invention that goes way back before microchips and LEDs. The world is such a crazy place.
