The story behind Alan Wools & Etonika's “Dream”:

When Alan Wools and Etonika lived in Odessa, they both fell in love with evening walks by the sea. One evening, whilst sitting on the beach, they heard The Blazes’ “Territory” playing at a nearby bar. They looked at each other and thought, “Wow, what a cool track”! And so, the idea behind ‘Dream’ was born - drawing inspiration from the mesmerising melodies of The Blaze’s “Territory,”. This influence sparked a creative fire within the two, to craft a piece that resonates with raw passion and storytelling. The lyrics for the vocals were written by Etonika. Initially, Alan wanted a male vocalist, but when Etonika offered her lyrics and sang the melody - he immediately abandoned the idea and the two got to work!

(Unfortunately, they cannot return to Odessa - since there is war in Ukraine, but this track will remain as a part of this city in them).

The title track, ‘Silent Ascension’, is a reflective slice of deep melodic house, featuring a rapturous melody and stunning vocals that float effortlessly above the production, creating an ethereal, otherworldly atmosphere. The second track, ‘Innocent’, takes a slightly different direction, with catchy trill-like synth work that adds texture to its introspective journey. Also a vocal cut, ‘Innocent’ carries a soft, melancholic tone that complements its rich, melodic soundscape.

The ‘Silent Ascension’ EP artwork features a photograph of Humpback whales taken by Rachel Moore. Rachel is a professional underwater photographer and environmental advocate dedicated to capturing the wonders of marine life. With a special focus on the grace and intelligence of humpback whales, her storytelling inspires a deeper connection to the ocean and a commitment to its preservation.

Humpback whales play a vital role in the carbon cycle, each sequestering 33,000 kg of CO₂ over its lifetime — the equivalent of driving a gas-powered car 132,000 km.
