Revisiting one of the label’s first releases from 2019, Canadian producer Return Of The Jaded’s ‘Soma’ receives two new versions. Reworking the original in his VIP edit, ROTJ infuses drum and bass elements to craft a brooding soundscape that further demonstrates his versatility as a producer. Czech artist Dominik Gehringer delivers a striking rendition, showcasing his progressive and powerful sonic identity, while keeping the original’s essence alive.
The Soma Remixes artwork displays a majestic image of an eagle ray, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Eagle rays are large, graceful rays known for their distinctive, flat, diamond-shaped bodies and long, slender tails. They are often seen gliding near the ocean floor or in open water, where they feed on mollusks, crustaceans, and small fish, using their powerful jaws to crush hard shells. Eagle rays face threats primarily from habitat loss and degradation, particularly of coral reefs and seagrass beds where they feed and breed, which pose significant risks to their populations. Each track unfolds with its own distinctive atmosphere, from the immersive depths of ‘Here I Am’ to the haunting textures of ‘Kattegat’, and the dark spirit of ‘Declive’. With the pair’s signature sound and collaborative flair on full display, this fresh three-tracker marks an impactful first release on the label from one of the scene’s most dynamic duos.

The ‘Here I Am’ EP artwork is a photograph of a crashing wave taken by Jan Erik Waider. A fine art photographer based in Hamburg, Germany, Jan is known for capturing abstract landscapes of the northern latitudes. With a focus on water, ice, and intricate natural patterns, his work reveals the beauty hidden in the subtle details of the world around us.

Ocean ecosystems are not just visually striking – they are also undergoing rapid and alarming change. The Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (@AWIexpedition) is a leading research institute studying Arctic sea ice, climate change, and the impacts on biodiversity in northern waters.

If I? sets the tone with ‘Sirens’, a deep and entrancing production that unfolds with hypnotic melodies and an irresistible flow. Solink follows with ‘Luminous’, blending intricate textures and a pulsating groove to create a truly rapturous listening experience. Closing the collection, Oblivium delivers ‘Aura’, a driving and uplifting piece propelled by a shimmering lead synth that ripples with energy. From expansive atmospheres to vibrant, pulse-driven moments, ‘Fragments XXVIII’ weaves a rich sonic tapestry that feels right at home on the dancefloor.

The ‘Fragments XXVIII’ artwork is a photograph of a Scalloped hammerhead shark cruising the reef wall at Darwin Island, Ecuador, taken by Brooke Pyke. Brooke is an award-winning marine life photographer from Australia, based on Ningaloo Reef in WA. With a background in diving, she now focuses on ocean, travel, and adventure photography, capturing the beauty of the underwater world since 2014.

The scalloped hammerhead's wavy head sets it apart from other hammerhead species, whose heads are flatter. This shape enhances its electroreception, allowing it to better detect prey in sand or mud, a feature shared with other hammerheads but more pronounced in this species. Shark Conservation Fund (@sharkconservationfund) is a global collaboration focused on protecting sharks and rays, investing in policy, science, and advocacy to halt their decline.
