Yulia Kasa| Hypnotic Hard Groove Techno | Tilt Shift Tuesday 11th June 2024

With an unwavering passion for deep, dark, groovy house and melodic techno, and newly branching out into fast, hypnotic techno with acid basslines, Yulia Kasa continues to push the boundaries of her signature sound and style. Based in Melbourne, Kasa has played solo for KISS FM Aus, 150 BPM events, Lucky Coq, My Aeon TechnoTime, TechNeck radio, In Progress Amsterdam radio with Zoldex and more. Kasa was also a founding member of duo Femme Fatale in 2023 where she played at well-known venues Revolver, New Guernica and Brown Alley. Kasa's sole focus now is on her solo journey, as well as meeting like-minded people within the underground techno community and discovering new artists at events. Kasa looks for inspiration everywhere, and her dedication and enthusiasm can be felt on dance floors. Kasa's sets are currently influenced by the likes of Drumcode, Klockworks, Tr!p recordings, HATE, BCCO and Vault Sessions Collective. She is inspired by artists such as Nina Kraviz, Ben Klock, Richie Hawtin, Ben Sims, MARRON, CHLAR, Alarico, Wata Igarashi and many more. Yulia Kasa is not only an inspiring DJ but also an advocate for the promotion of diversity and inclusion within the music industry. She actively supports initiatives that empower and uplift aspiring artists worldwide. Currently in her element with a clear vision ahead, there are lots of exciting things to come from Yulia Kasa.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. This can be applied to our music policy, tilting the vertical axis resulting in a sharp area of focus without reducing the depth of field. The selective focus that can be achieved by both tilting and shifting movements, It's compelling because the effect is different from that which you may have become accustomed to. This movement is often used to avoid the convergence of parallel lines, or as we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur.

The upcoming artist, recently released an exceptional record on the important, Hayes collective label.  
For the occasion he recorded for us a special modular synthesis improvisation with a deeper and more minimalistic approach than usual. 
Live Techno music for number 20 of our series. 

“It’s always a pleasure to invite artists that i think you need to focus your attention and discover their sonic universe. 
VHS is one of those cases, cause i believe that he maintains a strong identity and his style of producing is not what you often hear in this oversaturated scene. Few take chances and experiment like him with sound. 
That is evident in the highly unique live set that he has prepared only for us. If you give it a listen trust me, you might learn a few more things about techno and how you can approach this music differently.

@keeva-gallagher Keeva G -  is a Donegal-born DJ and long-time raver whose deep-seated love for music has taken her around the world to attend some of the best clubs and parties. Keeva has fully immersed herself in the local techno scenes of cities in which she has lived, such as Amsterdam, London, and New York.

Now based in Belfast, Keeva has spent the last couple of years transitioning from the dancefloor to the DJ booth. Taking inspiration from dancefloors across the globe, her sets are characterised by an infectious energy and groove, earning her notable bookings at If You Know You Know festival, Coda at the Ulster Sports Club in Belfast, and some upcoming festivals in the 2024 season.

Although Keeva is only beginning her journey as a DJ, she's already received support from some of Ireland's favourite festivals and collectives.

"Music keeps my mind fresh and open."
Fendler was influenced by music, since very young age. He likes a lot of musical instruments, but the bass guitar was the beloved instrument, he learned to play on. He touched commercial music in elementary school, you could say thanks to his class teacher, who likes entertaining kids. Later on, fendler starts to play local parties. This lifestyle enchanted him and he began to improve his skills very quickly. His talent continued to grow with music friends and the Discosound agency.

In 2006, he decided to expand his dreams to the Great Britain. He teamed up with local promoters in York and tried to promote himself below in London. Fendler's style and choice of tracks was always very special. He was the official winner of the "James Zabiela & Tid: Pro Dj skills competition 2012" DJ competition. He also owned 3rd place in competition "This is Sankeys Dj competition 2012". He has participated in local events around York and Manchester(GB) and also in London clubs such as Ministry of Sound, Egg, etc.

In 2012 Fendler returned back to Czech republic. Recently joined group Sound of society (s-o-s.cz), his dj sets including styles like Techno, minimal techno, tech house and deep tech, depends on event.
