“Temanku dari Bali, seorang sutradara film dokumenter, membuat suatu film tentang suku Anak Dalam Jambi berjudul Dan Rimba Sudah Habis. Isunya adalah soal ruang hidup yang semakin sempit. Ketika sedang dalam proses pembuatan film, diketahui bahwa masyarakat di sana dikenal dengan tradisi nyanyian pantun bernama seloka. Mbak Sinta (Oktania Retnani, sang sutradara) meminta beberapa tokoh masyarakat untuk menyanyikannya. Dan salah satunya yang paling membuat trenyuh adalah nyanyian si Bapak ini... ”

Mentahan rekaman nyanyian lelaki tua itu lalu dijadikan bahan utama oleh Gigih untuk menggarap sebuah lagu bertajuk “Seloka”. Lagu ini menjadi musik pengiring Dan Rimba Sudah Habis yang bisa disimak di sini (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhcEOpaF8Oo). Sembari mendengarkan keluh kelah orang asli Suku Anak Dalam Jambi di film dokumenter itu, iringan piano yang nyenyai beralun, melatari nyanyian seloka yang kurang lebih bisa diterjemahkan sebagai penuturan akan “rumah kita tak ada lagi, dan pertanyaan-pertanyaan akan masa depan anak cucu kita...”
