'Lucid Living' is a vibrant and immersive journey through psychedelic bass and downtempo. In contrast to Entangled Mind's debut album, 'Eternal Motion' (2021), a more introspective and melancholic work, this latest offering explores new territory with confidence, finding the joy in moving through a dynamic experience of intricacies and peculiarities.

At the heart of 'Lucid Living' lies a harmonious fusion of organic instrumentation and top-notch electronic production and sound design, as well as a notable emphasis on collaboration. Entangled Mind themself plays guitar, synths, handpan, bass, djembe, and shakers, as well as plentiful field recordings, making for a very personal soundscape. Further pushing possibilities through synergy with collaborators, and tapping in on additional musicians for features, each song is thoughtfully composed and differentiates itself from the last, while still flowing together as a fulfilling and cohesive experience.

Embracing entropy and a limitless nature, the album serves as a testament to the boundless creativity and expressive potential, and embodies what it means to live more lucidly in this ever-evolving world that we’re all entangled in.

I was very excited to be invited to share a guest mix for the Over the Moon Radiozora series, as it has been a perfect opportunity to dive deeper into the expansive chiller side of my project. Featuring a number of unreleased works in progress, as well as some favorite selections from my discography, ‘Nocturnal Drift’ is a soundtrack to help your mind and heart unwind and drift into a blissful, dreamlike state, where you can hear what you need to hear and feel what you need to feel.

Tipper and Friends - Mix Submission 2022

Ever since making the first family jazz mix in 2020, I knew I’d want to put together another to showcase more of my family’s music in this way. So when I got asked to play a family jazz set as part of the Tipper & Friends takeover at Secret Dreams festival this year, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to do so.

This project felt like a collage to me - spent a lot of time gathering old recordings from family members, piecing together with electronic tracks, and doing new recordings on top of that. It would not be possible without all the musicians and producers whose music I featured in this curation so be sure to see the full track list below. Special shoutouts to my dad Paul Barbato, Uncle Joe “Sonny” Barbato, Uncle Artie Barbato, and family friend Bill Jones for doing many recording sessions with me and making this set extra special.

Lots of love was put into this mix and I do hope you enjoy. As I said after making the first one, I am grateful for having a family that taught me music as one of the greatest pleasures in life, and I hope that this helps keep the vibrant genre of jazz alive and celebrated.

I am happy to share my first collaborative single with talented musician and dear friend Amy Naylor!

Surrender was born last summer when Amy and I first became connected from opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean, and she sent me a beautiful recording of her playing the Rav drum. It has since grown into a track that we're both really proud of, and we hope you enjoy it too!

Bluetech's Spacehop Chronicles 2 journey continues with "Limonchik," the latest single in the saga of Laika the cosmonaut canine's imagined interstellar adventures. Featuring vocals written and recorded by BISHØP, the original track's playful and inventive spirit is echoed in the accompanying artwork, crafted by Bluetech himself. 

This release also showcases three distinctive remixes that take "Limonchik" in exciting new directions. With intuitive phrasing, complex layering, and thoughtful arrangements, they weave together their own recordings and carefully crafted sounds into meaningful commands of tension and release.

The musical roots in my family go back to my grandfather, Sid Barbato, an exceptional jazz clarinetist, who passed on the values of music to his many children, my father included. I wanted to put something together that combined these roots of jazz with current electronic styles I am inspired by, and this is the result. This very special set features the music of several of my family members, mixed with some originals as well as music of other producers I like, premiered with the Starborn Productions Jazz Brunch takeover for Industry Strong's 76hr livestream event. Very happy to present my debut album “Eternal Motion”:

Created over the past almost 3 years, this is my most personal work yet. It dives deep into a more emotional and introspective side of human experience - embracing joy, love, pain, uncertainty, inspiration and growth.

Creating music has always been a way that allows me to feel more connected, both to myself as well as to others and to the world in general, and I hope that this album makes others feel a little bit more connected too as we navigate this ever-changing life that we’re all entangled in.
