Desde las montañas del suroeste de la Ciudad de México y con una ardiente pasión por los ritmos sincopados, Mwamwa es un artista de música electrónica contracultural, diversa y desafiante con fuertes bases en el techno y el breakbeat. 

Incorpora elementos técnicos y teóricos propios del jazz, el bossa nova, el liquid drum and bass, hasta salsa y ritmos afrolatinos, creando un estilo propositivo y ecléctico sin precedentes.

Today we want to introduce you to the next guest artist to participate in our podcast series, who brings us his mix from Mexico.

From the mountains in the southwest of Mexico City and with a burning passion for syncopated rhythms, Mwamwa is an electronic music artist whose work is countercultural, diverse, and challenging, with strong foundations in techno and breakbeat.

He incorporates technical and theoretical elements from jazz, bossa nova, liquid drum and bass, as well as salsa and Afro-Latin rhythms, creating a forward-thinking and eclectic style like no other.

His sets are immersive and energetic, where he blends groove-filled rhythms with dense atmospheres, psychedelia, and darkness.

I started my music journey at the beginning of 2024 after ~12 years of clubgoing. I always found beauty in the darkness of clubs, hypnotic rhythms, and the free spirits of those who come there. For years I've been telling myself that I can't do DJing and music myself because of 1,2 and 3 until I finally found joy in doing it just for the sake of doing it, for the love of it.
