we ain't throwin' passion to the wind, it's lackin' as it is

Listen Up! is proud to present a new single from our former participant, Elyssa F.  Recorded while Elyssa still attended Program - and wowed us all with her incredible singing talent - "Refuge In God" is trademark Elyssa: soaring but grounded, universal but personal.  Elyssa would like to share in her own words what this song means to her:

"Refuge in God would technically be my second original song I have written, but it is my very first to have written and recorded! I am so excited to share with y'all!  Refuge in God tells the story of feeling hopeless and takes you on a journey on how God comes through.  It shows we can go through different seasons and storms of life, but we can rest in knowing that God has everything under control and He is working even when we don’t feel or know it.  This song was written after I made it to the other side of a storm I didn’t think would end.  I wouldn’t have made it if God wasn’t by my side.  I am far from strong, but I have a big God who can move mountains, and He can move yours, too.  It was inspired after one of my recent storms I recently went through, I am on the other side now, there were moments I felt hopeless and that I wasn’t sure how much longer I could take it all, life was a lot. I made it!

This will be my first and last original song I release with Listen Up!  I want to thank staff and peers who have helped with my confidence and have given me an amazing opportunity!  I will miss each and everyone of you, but I look forward to following you all on your adventures.  Listen Up! has helped me grow so much!"
