[ OTTOMAN GRÜW ]

Trapped between flesh and technology, OTTOMAN GRÜW is the sulfurous technoid project of interdisciplinary artist Jean Grünewald. After being involved in Montreal underground music scenes for the last few years, Jean is now based in Brussels and operates the new platform/label MUTANT MODALITY.
Spread at the crossroads of industrial-minded electronics, OTTOMAN GRÜW’s identity combines intense dancefloor sound with experimental post-punk infused approach.
Through live performance to music production and DJ sets, the artist delivers a cathartic blend of rhythmic equations - spanning the spheres of techno, ebm, electro, dark ambient and noise. This research for a boundary-pushing aesthetic brought him on stage with artists like Orphx, Unhuman, Reka or Animistic Beliefs.

Dani is an up-and-coming DJ from Barcelona that has only started mixing a few months ago. He is a major fan of everything dark in between darkwave and industrial techno. 

Under his alias noralb, he plays sets that are deeply rooted in the dark and heavy synths of ebm and the raw punching kicks of industrial techno.

This set is an example of just that, starting with classic ebm songs from artists like The Horrorist, Andi, or Milimetric in the first half of the set, leading into a second half meant to keep you dancing until the very end to the stomping beats of 140bpm industrial techno.

The last song in particular is meant to be a memory of the raw energy of the concert of Fotocopia that he saw live a few months back.

@smforma is a captivating musical collaboration between artists, Mario F. (electronics) and Jogile D. (voice, electronics), delivering a unique hypnotic technoid-EBM sound enriched by sensual and bewitching vocals. Beyond SMFORMA, Mario showcases his versatility through his solo project, d.Forma, and as one-half of the Catalan electronic punk duo Dead Normal (Harbinger Sound). He also manages the renowned label Lovethechaos. On the other hand, Jogile D. (Barcelona-based Lithuanian multidisciplinary artist) has been exploring electronic music and performance through different projects and under different names for almost two decades. She discovers all kinds of artistic performing activities as a means of exploring her.

This month's guest is Humanoid Target Practice; a Finnish producer / DJ duo based in Helsinki whose sound focuses on creating a dark driving atmosphere on the dancefloor by combining cold industrial soundscapes with hard hitting kicks and distorted basslines. 

They run their own monthly radio show at Ida Radio and host club events in various venues under the name Incendiary, that focuses on darker side of electronic music.
