For our anniversary mix, #50, we have a lined up a very special one. A live recording from Omformer's live-set under the midnight sun at the mini-festival 'Out of Space' we hosted last year at Træna. A desolate island far north in Norway, five hours away from mainland. The coverpicture is taken from this liveset.

The 1 hour performance really showcases Omformers unique, driving, psychedelic and emotional sound. With this raw live-recording, you truly can feel and hear the live elements.

Next up in our mix-series is the Tokyo-based DJ and promoter, DJ MARIA., a rising star in the psychedelic realms of techno and trance. With her deep, rolling signature sound, Maria is spellbinding dancefloors all the way from the depths of Japanese forest parties, to dark dancefloors in the likes of Berghain and Bassiani. Maria is a true contributor to the local scene, co-organizing two outdoor festivals, Moment and Transcendance.

In this mix she amplifies a swirling deep trip with intense, evocative sounds and captivating 4/4 rhythms. The mix invites to a jungle-like musical fantasy, focusing on psychedelic techno, drawing a line between acid and trance, with a sensitive energy control.

Next up in our mix series is Rotterdam-based producer, DJ and On Board Music founder Laura BCR - a vital presence both behind the decks and behind the scenes of contemporary electronic music. A former record store co-owner (Bass Cadet Records), booking agent, and head of the On Board agency and label, Laura’s dedication runs deep.

In this mix, Laura invites us into her more contemplative soundscapes, guiding us through a true evolving trip of shimmering synths and sun-kissed rhythms. It's deliberate and elegant - a lesson in patience and depth. As deep and mysterious, as it is warm and gracious. Next up in our mix series is Drifters - the new collaborative project between DJ Zoik & Telly - two of the heads behind the Eora/Sydney-based collective Headnoiz, and their renowned bush gathering, Outsider. Centered around progressive, Headnoiz pushes trance-adjacent sounds that engage both the body and mind, operating both as a record label and underground party series. Their intimate Outsider, is a community-focused gathering set deep in the Australian bush. The festival is dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge electronic soundscapes on powerful sound systems, offering an immersive experience that blends nature with innovative music.

For this episode, we’ve got the recording of their set at a Headnoiz party back in June. An all vinyl outing, direct from a smoke-filled warehouse. Rooted in the minimal and progressive trance styles from the turn of the century, Drifters lean into the hypnotic and obscure slow burns. Fluid, groovy and trippy, laced with warped rhythms and skittish psy basslines.

"The warm-up slot has always been a setting that feels natural to me.
I have been a resident at Phonotheque since my years living in Uruguay up until 2017 (and I still proudly hold that residency today). Back then, playing on rotation across all time slots gave me the chance to experiment and grow as an artist. Later, in 2019, after moving to Europe, I also became a resident at Cartulis, and this ongoing rotation of slots has continued to this day in both residencies.

Playing at a club like Fold is both a luxury and a rare comfort, something that makes everything flow more easily and enjoyably.
This set is a memory of a very special night, recorded on January 28th, 2023. I opened the night, followed by Radioactive Man, Nicolas Lutz, Unai Trotti, Vass, and Walrus." Z@p
