The starting point of this track stemmed from a collaboration piece of ambient music me and my dad made using some of his Moog toys.

I put our original piece was put through Ableton's sampler, and can be most clearly heard at the very start, establishing crotchet beats. However, will go on to just supply occasional background harmony past this point, completely unrecognisable.

This was always supposed to be an experimental sounding piece. Rhythmically, structurally and harmonically. All other sounds apart from the piano were created using Ableton’s own plugins.

Composed around a 9 note vignette and in accordance to the following,
1. Regretful and longing
2. Confident and impassioned
3. Tense and menacing
4. Joyful and carefree
The song was put together for this purpose and uses a couple recycled materials such as the drum patterns from Three and Another Two.

Actual A-level homework (One motif, four moods)

Made over a 3 year period (procrastination's ruthless). This track conjures a complex soundscape using a broad electronic sound palette. However always making sure harmony takes centre stage, never really 'saying' the same thing twice.
