With a rather long gap in releases we felt now was the time to start the wheels turning again, so here we are, back with another BIG boom from one of our favourite artists 'Bootzy'. 

The 'Everything Goes EP' is made up from two tracks and a remix from Enyon himself, 'Everything Goes' the title track from the EP features the rather naughty vocals from Tamra Keenan who is just dying to get out of her clothes! It's an 'electro - pop' slice of delicious goodness from Bootzy and will be a perfect early evening or late night accompaniment. 'Wanna Freak' picks up the electro pop vibe, an instrumental with a deep male vox statement, the baseline is awesome on this as are the synth strings and drum work, throwing us back in time!

On 'Everything Goes' remix duties we have label head honcho Enyon who delivers a rather sublime disco / house infused version aimed directly at the dancefloor, using just the vocal he builds a totally new palette of sound that is simply sensational.

On this exact date, 25 years ago, I received a demo in the post from a completely unknown DJ that Dan Prince, then editor of Mixmag, had told to send it to me... I know it was this date, as it was a Saturday morning before Renaissance that night. I had listened to this demo 5/6 times during the day - and again on the way to the club that night. I knew I’d found something special the moment I heard the mix between the first 2 tracks on the B side of that tape!

After Renaissance that night, as often happened, Sasha came back to my house the next morning... I told him I'd found a DJ who I thought was amazing, and went on to play him the tape. He too was blown away! The only writing on the tape was 'DJ JD’ and a phone number, so I called John after the weekend and told him I loved the tape and wanted him to play at the club, but I told him I wouldn't put 'DJ JD' on the flyers as it sounded like a rave DJ and instead wanted to bill him as John Digweed. I booked his first date on Saturday 5th September 1992 - and spent 4 weeks before his debut gig telling everyone I'd discovered this amazing DJ - and, of course, he didn't disappoint!! The whole club was blown away by the talent on show on his first night, and I then started to regularly pair him with Sasha at Renaissance, ahead of that iconic mix compilation, 2 yrs later, that took the S&D partnership global... so here's the mixtape that started it all, a piece of clubbing history and a significant footnote in Renaissance’s history and in the career of one of the world’s finest DJs!🔊🔊🔊

UK-based producer Enyon  has had plenty of time to develop his own sound. Whether it's boogie, disco or house, his compositions and productions are always uncompromising with the future always in front of him and never forgetting what has already passed… 

Enyon (aka Si Gordon) grew up in the south west of England in the late 70’s and 80’s, he was exposed to and influenced by artists like Quincy Jones, George Clinton, Bootsy, Odyssey, Loleatta Holloway, Giorgio Moroder, Nile Rodgers, Derain, Ultimate, Grace Jones, Kraftwork, OMD & John Davis amongst so many more.. 

All this amazing soul, disco, funk and early electronic music influenced his own music many years later when he finally made his name in the soulful house scene as the Stereo Mutants. With music spanning over a 15 year period on legendary label’s such as Defected records (UK), Soulfuric records (US), Hardsoul Pressings (NL), Sony/BMG, MN2S(UK), Bubblesoul music (Spain), Duffnote (UK), Maya records (NYC) and remixing the likes of Sam Sparro, Central Avenue, DJ Dove, Keith Thompson, DJ Meme, Clemens Rumph and many more, he’s amassed an impressive discography and remixography over the years.

A quick listen to any of his productions or one of his superb DJ sets will confirm this attractive, emotion-rich aesthetic. While rooted in house, his sound currently takes on flavours of disco, boogie and deeper choice grooves.

Si has travelled the world as a DJ in the past 27 years, playing as far afield as Australia, Asia and the United States, as well as regular appearances in Europe and the UK. Refreshingly, he seems to have no particular aspirations to play in gargantuan clubs and admits to preferring gigs in small, intimate venues, where he can make a connection with the crowd, these types of gigs have always been his favourites.

As a producer, he is constantly learning and evolving, taking his sound in different directions. He admits to a love of fusing live and electronic instrumentation in all his productions and has a ‘slight’ fetish for vintage synthesizers, after all he did grow up in the 70’s and early 80’s! 

He currently holds a residency at www.moderndisco.co.uk and tours internationally as Enyon, plus produces a monthly radio show on www.thesourcefm.co.uk entitled a ‘Journey Through Disco’
