"When we approached this mix we decided right away that it should reflect the fun and exciting time of the year that Christmas is. A mix you can wrap presents to or get down and sweaty to in the early hours. In essence, it is a bunch of tracks that got us excited when we first started out DJing, alongside some of our favourites from the last few months out and about in the clubs. We have thrown in a few of our own tracks / edits and there are a couple of exclusives too, and maybe the odd sleigh bell for good measure! Merry Christmas one and all!"

here is the 1,5 Hour Dj set which I played right after the D-Nox & Beckers live act at the legendary Tribal Tech festival in Curitiba Brasil. The organizers have understood have to create a new kind of festival. Full of surprises, amazing deco, lights, stages and soooo many people and great music. I am very happy that I was part of this massive event. Thank you!

It's that blessed time of year when the chill in the air starts to become a little less evident and, from next week at least, it'll actually light when you leave the office after the daily grind. Yep, the hold of winter is easing off and thankfully that means that the season of extended bank holiday weekends will soon be upon us. The first is just a matter of weeks away and we have an extra special blow out planned with Carl Cox and Jon Rundell’s impeccable (and pretty much institutional) techno platform, Intec, set to take over both Rooms One and Two this Easter Thursday. 

Even though the allocation of advance tickets have sold out, please be assured that there will be plenty of tickets available to purchases on the door on the night - we only sell 50% of our capacity in advance.

And to entice you to out to Farringdon to start you Easter celebrations we’re running a series of promo mixes from Intec artists to build internet anticipation. First up was Marco Bailey (which you can also check out on our channel here) showing us his beat driven sound and today we're ready to present a four four work out from Monika Kruse who brings her own element of funk into the mix, expertly crafting the energy levels into an engaging 75 minute mix, drawing on her 25 rich years of experience working the dance floor.

Meeting during their student years in Birmingham, Tim Hopgood (aka Ethyl) and Jamie Taylor (aka Flori) have maintained a close relationship both in the studio and behind the decks. In their output they draw on skills garnered studying sound production back in Brum and perhaps the best cross section of their work can be found in the podcast they delivered for Little White Ear Buds last year -  a mix they put together using 100% of their own production, which the pair readily admit is something of a rarity. The mix perfectly showcases the pair's aptitude for creating tracks that stand outside of the standard four four template, with their pleasingly rugged analogue grooves aligning with silvered synths. In our minds we feel that they're onto something pretty special, exercising their ability at working up through varying intensities on the techno spectrum. 

Now located in London, Ethyl & Flori have been releasing tracks together since 2006 - finding friends in Secretsundaze, Freerange and Fear of Flying - and they’ve recently landed a fortnightly radio show on the Leeds based KMAH station. They're also coming to Room Three on 30th May and to mark the occasion they’ve recorded an exclusive promo mix to demonstrate what types of things they're playing in the club right now - a very different prospect from their LWE mix and their radio broadcasts. Plus we also got to exchange some questions with the duo to find out exactly why they are hesitant of playing their own tracks and what other plans are afoot in their release schedule...
