The defining feature of a Gömböc is the fact that it's got just two points of equilibrium: one is stable and the other is unstable. If you put a Gömböc down on a flat surface, resting on its stable equilibrium point, it will stay as it is.

Essentially, the shape of a turtle is a Gomboc!

Bass design inspired by the mick of man. Dude has shown me nothing but the upmost of kindness.

An honest goodbye from Craftal. 8 tracks of what he considers his best work, spanning 9 years of making strange sounds and playing them to crowds of strange people across the USA. Half new material, half old, consider it a "Greatest Hits" of sorts, as he shifts focus to new horizons.

These are my favorite ear ticklers that I've made as Craftal. Making this music was fun, challenging, frustrating, and rewarding. I tried to do something a little different in the increasingly homogenous world of "Bass Music". It was all just a test. I hope I accomplished that, I hope you enjoy it, and I hope that my future artistic endeavors interest you as well.

Stirring numerous musical disciplines into one super-charged package, there's little territory they won't cover with their signature flare. With a clear dedication to pushing their formula and style wherever and whenever possible, The Rust is proud to host the release of their latest EP; Tenacious.

Spanning five distinct flavors across five unique compositions, Tenacious puts the triple brain-trust of 3420 on direct display. Ranging from hip-hop and DnB rhythms to brolic bass music motifs, the band manages to find the instrumental pocket of even their most digitally-driven productions. With organic drum timbres, six-string guitar, contemporary sound design, and the know-how to mingle it all without oversaturating any individual element, the progression of each composition slides almost effortlessly into the next. Fairy-esque synths, digital strings and spectral atmospherics combine to lure you into tuna's “Object Permanence”, out via NYC's Altamira Records on June 14th, 2024. In the release, tuna, real name Julian Schäfer, evokes fractals that combine his glossy audio productions with the lushness of the boreal world.

Represented through a mixture of auditory synthesis and fantastical themes, “Object Permanence” ponders, and then objects to, the idea of immutability. The natural world serves as a metaphor for the concept. An appropriated painting of a shoreline on the EP's cover may seem like a representative moment of nature's beauty and order, but through evaporation, tides, human intervention, and the life and death of millions of organisms that live within, a seemingly static frame is actually representative of a continually changing environment.

The closing song, “Melt Like Water,” encapsulates this theme with a quote by a tribal community elder from Vanuatu in Werner Herzog’s 2016 documentary, "Into the Inferno." “Everything will melt, the stones, the trees, everything, like water.” In our crumbling world, how can one expect any permanence?
