Mix 16 comes from LA based Iranian-American artist Maral (@maral66). A beautifully eclectic mix featuring 'edits of Iranian dub, unreleased tunes and tracks I've been digging.'

Maral has spent the past half-decade quietly honing an approach that meshes the latest in club music contortions, a range of pulverized dub effects, and samples from her library of Iranian folk, pop and classical musics.

She has released music with Astral Plane Recordings and Leaving Records. Her most recent album is 'Push' (Leaving Records, 2020), a confident step forward from Maral’s club & mixtape work into a powerful collection of original songs.

As a DJ, she enjoys exploring music from around the world and showcasing the hidden gems from the past and present. Through her music and involvement in the scene, Maral seeks to both educate and have a positive impact on others.

She presents a regular show on LA's Dublab

Bring Down The Walls with Lakuti & Hillegonda Rietveld - Quando Quango 29/08/2021

Originally hailing from Mzansi, South Africa and firmly rooted in Manchester, DJ and producer Levi Love has become a prominent figure within the Northern city's music scene.

For over nine years he's been a resident at one of Manchester's finest music establishments, SOUP Kitchen, where he's strengthened his passion for fusing global and Euro-centric sounds. Like his selections, his own musical output is guided by these two loves; releases which form the backbone of his own label Mas O Menos, founded as a platform for cultural and musical exchanges between the UK and South-Africa.

Ahead of his appearance at Audio Farm Festival this weekend, he puts together a mix that paints a picture of the flourishing South African underground scene, showcasing music from solely South African producers, including a couple of his own tracks.

Loma Doom - real name Femke Dekker - lives in Amsterdam where she's a vital member of the music scene, a seasoned digger and radio host as well as a curator and educator of contemporary art. Her dedication to radio is quite amazing, holding residencies on Radio Tempo Nao Para, Echobox Radio and Stranded FM as well as Ja Ja Ja Nee Nee Nee, an online radio station dedicated to art.

For her Phase Group Mix she has gifted us with an expertly composed deep listening experience. One hour of shamanic trance moving through dark droning soundscapes, tribal percussion and ancient voices chanting echoing incantations, recorded live at the Radio Tempo Nao Para studios in Amsterdam.
