Eomac expands the roster of his recently inaugurated Eotrax imprint with the introduction of two forerunners in Berlin's techno scene: Kaltès and Nene H. Both have built respected reputations as exciting artists to watch, as Kaltès organizes Tresor Berlin's female:pressure-affiliated party series and Nene H. turned heads with her Fountain Of Fire performance at Berlin Atonal Festival. Their collaborative record, the Protest EP, presents a call to arms and an empowered take on gnarly techno with a stormy industrial underbelly.

For Kaltès and Nene H., the music channels a current zeitgeist. A wail—a rallying cry—appears on each track and provides the record's central motif. In that sense the theme acts as a statement to which each featured artist contributed, including the two remixers: Orphx's Christina Sealey and the Irish Eotrax alum LAIR. It's a howl of anguish, but not from heartache or misery; it's a defiant, determined and empowered battle cry. On "Persist", staunch kicks summon the vocal from a swamp of metallic textures, while on "Resist" it's placed at the center of a thundering black hole, drawing the listener in deeper. In the hands of Christina Sealey, it becomes a smoldering element in a rolling EBM cruiser, whereas LAIR spreads it over a backdrop of shifting ambient textures and dark celestial grumbles.

Berlin’s Swarm Intelligence joins NEW YORK TRAX Imports to release four fierce, off-beat techno and electro cuts. Tense atmospherics, uncompromising levels of distortion and stark, astute beats constitute a distinctive sound that Swarm Intelligence has been honing for more than a decade seeing him release on labels such as VOITAX, Ad Noiseam, Earwiggle and many more. The Dublin-born, Berlin-based producer is certainly no stranger to the techno world and his reputation of performing menacing live sets and deploying emphatic productions will leave an enduring impression on any listener. ‘NEW YORK TRAX Imports 04’ sees Swarm Intelligence join the New York Trax sub-label following the likes of Drvg Cvltvre, Endlec, Dawid Dahl and Another Alias.

The Geneva-based DJ and resident of Motel Campo has been taking his all vinyl, uncompromising sets across Switzerland and beyond, with recents gigs at  renowned venues like MetaCulture, Motel Campo, Tresor, White Hotel, Glazart, and Suicide Circus. Deeper in the techno landscape, there were appearances at Red Light Radio in Amsterdam, Rinse FM in Paris, as well as invitations to play at festival like Backslash in Zurich.

Originally stepping out under the banner of rave collective Rudelbums, Pastram delivers a destructive set of EBM, industrial, techno, acid and more for a strong addition to our series.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from Ason Teva. “Chromajen” comes off the Israeli artist’s forthcoming EP, Bypass which is out this week on Confused Machines. Hebrew for "natural disaster", Ason Teva is a new project by Tel Aviv-based producer Assaf Bloom, previously active within the duo Plazmot. A musician whose always sought out the points of interaction between popular and experimental forms, Bypass demonstrates his ability to find expression in both retro-esque and abstract electronics, utilizing condensed structures alongside left-field excursions. The result is a powerful release that traverses experimental, club forms and beyond for a strikingly current tale of a confused world. 

Bypass is out February 14th and you can pick it up now on Bandcamp.
