Great Tune, Do you prefer real Synths to Software plug-in Synths.  The reason I ask is that I prefer the real stuff.  I mainly use a moXF6 and a beat up CS6x for 90% of my work, avoiding having to us Cubase as much as possible.

A Song Long Ago

This is a track I started on way back in 2013. I had bought the Realivox Blue from Realitone - a vocal sample plugin for Kontakt, where you can build syllables and phrases. Recorded just one lady singing so you can get some nice stuff. However I couldn't get it to be exactly as I wanted because the pronounciation is a little limited and things tend to get artificial. So it's only oohs, aahs and such here.. but I finally got it together and finished now.. only five years on the shelf! ;)

Isabella's Dream

Espen Kraft made a great video about the AKAI S612 Sampler (https://youtu.be/01u2alyA08Y) and with it, a really nice, poppy tune that I simply couldn't resist the urge to turn into a full song. He graciously let me have a go at it, and liked the results. I got the stem mixes and vocal tracks, and basically went to town with it, giving it the full treatment I tend to go for. Trying to keep the liveliness and happy bouncing basslines, the steeldrums and cheerful brass lines. I added the intro, some bridges and turned the intro hook into a chorus since it was the main thing that caught my attention the first time. I also took Espen's vocal lines from his original chorus and harmonised them and did a little Porter Robinson thing at the intro and break down towards the end.

AmigaKlang - Calcpreculation (Virgill&Assassin)

Electronic musician from Norway. I started playing piano/keyboards in the mid 80s. After a few years at the municipal music school, I quickly grew tired of the simple piano-only education and got to move on to classes with keyboards and synths. From the early beginning with Technics K-200 rhythm keyboard from 1983 via some Casios/Hohner keyboards, I evolved with the later Technics KN-1000 and KN-2000 before moving on to Roland XP-50. As the computer revolution made DAWs affordable, 1999 made sequencing using Cubase easy and the studio grew ever larger with more outboard gear. Today the studio has become a sizeable and functional MIDI/arranging studio with over 40 synths/modules and more centered around a MacPro with MOTU’s Digital Performer, and numerous more or less famous productions.

I have always had a musical approach towards sound engineering and composing, rooted mainly in vivid harmonic structures and saturated compositions. Inspiration has always been the likes of Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Eric Serra to name a few giants in the electronic scene, but also a heart towards well produced pop music from the 70s and 80s as well as epic film scores from John Williams, Alan Silvestri and Hans Zimmer. The baby era of computer music from the late 80s and early 90s was also a heavy influence.
