bridge of horizon

the eldest of all trees
looks down into the deepening pale
its bleached bark is a groan
there is an ache to the weightlessness
of many passing lives
the days are an unbroken line of ants
are many-legged lives
passing over roots
all flows down
to a hidden place on the horizon

I dreamed about this song. All I knew was the title and that it was being released on a compilation of experimental music. The dream seemed auspicious. I needed to bring this dream song into waking.
