Having released their debut album in September 2014, ephemerals started 2015 in serious style by reaching Number 1 on Hype Machine after gaining support from tastemaker DJ’s, getting playlisted by 1Xtra and being supported across Radio 1 / 2 / 6Music and even Radio 4.  The song Life Is Good is a beautifully uplifting counterpoint to the sometimes dark social commentary that characterises much of the album’s lyrical content and had already been singled out by Hollywood before the album was released with hit TV show Homeland licensing the track for a key scene.

The second album “chasin ghosts”  by NY-LON soul band  ephemerals, will be released at the end of October by Jalapeno Records on a limited edition clear vinyl as well as digital and CD - marking the 200th release for the soul, funk, jazz and electronica  label.

“well done” is the sound of a very British type of political sarcasm delivered by one of the world’s most soulful young singers all tied up in a New Orleans style soul stomp that is so catchy it has become the set opener of the band’s energetic live shows. Squealing horns underpin a ferocious bassline giving the track an urgency that demands your attention.

Astraea fuses together simple repetitive motifs à la Steve Reich in a constantly evolving and building mesh of sonic textures. Featuring deep lyrics drawing comparisons between the complex physics of the universe and people it’s an emotive and touching track that will have you reaching for the repeat button.
