I made this track about 17 years ago when I was not doing well.  Some people who are close to me are struggling this season. I hope this slapper reminds you that not everyone is safe and happy during the holidays.  Claiming the reason for the season, hoping for peace and goodwill, and celebrating holy nights and amazing grace are hollow gestures made from warm living rooms full of loved ones, that reinforcethe suffering of others. Spend a christmas alone, and the holidays take on a totally different meaning.

Low self-esteem plagues America and often manifests itself through self mutilation.  I learned that some one close to me was cutting which brought back a flood of memories from a time when I engaged in self-harm.  At first I was devastated.  Eventually I opened up to my loved one and shared a moment of bonding that was deeply needed by both of us.  I wrote this song to reach those who feel low and left out to let them know that they are not alone and that some one in their life understands.
